Bab 57: Chapter 57 - Sanctuary Portal Totem
Two days later, Zach finally arrived back in Undead Enclave after traveling nonstop however, he found the place was too quiet, and he could not see any survivors walking or staying inside so he then immediately headed to his house and asked Eun Ae about it knowing that through the Shelter's Core, everything could be seen as long as they were in the shelter.
Entering the house, Zach was immediately greeted by Eun Ae seeing the two already started embracing one another before they settled in the living room. Both missed each other and they couldn't help but want some warmth seeing them now taking their greeting to another level.
"I can't seem to find the others." Zach said while looking at Eun Ae who was in his arms.
"They were still out there in the wild." Eun Ae replied with a smile knowing that she would never be lonely again seeing that he was now here.
"Is that so?" Zach said before giving Eun Ae a kiss.
"Well, let me take a bath first. Do you want to join with me?" Zach then followed while giving Eun Ae a cheeky smile but without waiting for her reply, he already stood up and picked her up as he immediately headed to the bathroom.
Eun Ae could only scream in excitement as she allowed herself to be carried. After that, the bathroom then was filled with different noises all of which were sounds of delight coming not just from Eun Ae but also from Zach.
When night came, Zach finally saw everyone seeing them now having a bonfire inside the shelter. However, all the residents weren't there as only he, Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Eun Ae, and the newly added Ishaan Baneerje who came from India, and Luciana Costa of Brazil. The two of them were of the same age as Zach so they quite get along well in the shelter.
On the other hand, the other three were quiet and independent people as they minded their own business and didn't seem to interact with them seeing them headed straight to their houses after greeting them. It might be because they were much older or maybe they just didn't still trust them but through Appraisal, Zach knew their names as Hector, Daniel, and Brian with their nationality unknown.
"Zach, I have acquired something from one of the dropped items this time. Look." Kazuya suddenly said from which he took out something like a vial with blue water inside of it and gave it to Zach with excitement.
Zach took it from his hand and immediately used appraisal to it and after reading its description, his eyes widened in surprise as it was a very nice item to have and that it is something that will greatly help him or the others when the time is right.

"This item would not be of great use for me to have so, you can have it as I know using Stealth might be too consuming to your Spirit." Kazuya said with a smile on his face. The item really was great but he still didn't have other skills so it will only be forgotten in his inventory. So, instead of that, he might as well give it to Zach as payback for what he had given him until now.
"Are you sure?" Zach asked but he was already smiling inside knowing that this item would only make him stronger. Even if Kazuya wanted it back, he would duplicate it first so that he would have his own but seeing that he wanted to give it to him only makes things simple.
"Yeah." Kazuya answered while scratching his head upon seeing not just Zach but also the others looking at him as if they were teasing him.
"Well. This is a great item and I felt bad thinking that you're giving this to me. So, you can have this in exchange." Zach said before taking out a Steel Sword in his inventory and giving it to Kazuya.
Seeing the sword, everyone immediately looked at its description which surprised everyone upon seeing that it was just an ordinary item but upon seeing its rating, all of their eyes widened in surprise upon seeing it having a 3-star. Everyone was stupefied as they thought that it was not a fair exchange as they knew that Spirit Vial was a consumable thing and even with that, it only replenished five Spirit while the sword could be used forever.
"T-This. I-I can't accept this, Zach. It's too precious." Kazuya said as he thought that Zach might have given him something that he was using as he was familiar very well with the weapon that he had.
"Don't worry I got a new weapon from my exploration this time." Zach said before taking the Battle Sword.
The sword in Kazuya's hand was already something that they were surprised with but after seeing Zach's Sword, their mouth was completely wide open upon seeing it having question marks which meant that it was a bronze class item. But that was not all, as they got curious, they used appraisal on the clothes that he was wearing at the moment and there they saw his boots, trousers, and shirt were all items having question marks.
All of them can't imagine how Zach acquired them all but one thing is a fact and that is, he must have killed quite a lot of monsters outside and most probably bronze class which they still have no courage to face until now. Little did they know that Zach still had the arms guards, gloves, and armor that he chose not to wear.
"This is the same for all of you. If you have acquired any new item. You can either keep it to yourself or let me have it. I promised to exchange them with something of equal value with the sword that I have given to Kazuya." Zach said while looking at them. He knew that they might have gotten some things out of their exploration, but he wasn't the type of person who would force them to have him take a look since it was theirs to begin with.
Hearing this, Patrick and the others looked at each other from which they immediately took out some items that they hadn't posted in the Shelter Store and presented them to Zach thinking that they might be given something like the Battle Sword in return.
Meanwhile, Zach was surprised a little by the items that they had. Patrick took out a Mace, Maria took out a whip, Ishaan took out something like a staff, and lastly, Luciana took out a black cloak. Each one of them was an ordinary class item but still, they were new just like what he told them.
"Good." Zach said after looking at their descriptions. He then just took out four enhanced items that he used before and gave them to them.
Seeing this, Patrick and the rest were completely excited upon seeing their descriptions as they really got bronze-class items in return. Everyone then immediately gave Zach their gratitude upon seeing his generosity which makes them admire him more.
"Now that we're done. I would like to move to another topic." Zach then said and their excitement immediately subsided upon seeing him looking at them with a serious expression on his face.
"During my exploration this time, I have encountered another type of Undead. It's called Smasher. It wasn't as fast as the Reaper and wasn't as tall as the Glutton but it was abnormally stronger than the others but that wasn't what I wanted to talk about." Zach said before remembering the beast back in the swamp.
"I met another creature. It wasn't an Undead this time but a beast that looked like a crocodile back on Earth and I saw it eating the Smasher and the rest of the Undead that I have killed. It was something that I couldn't take on for the time being as it was over level 50 so what I wanted to say is when you go out, you better watch out for other creatures, not just the Undead." Zach followed since who knows what kind of place and creature was living out there as they still were around the vicinity of the shelter.
Hearing this, everyone felt a sudden nervousness since this information would mean that they would not only deal with Undead now but also beasts who were living in the area which might be more dangerous than the ones they were killing for their evolution.
Following that, Zach and the rest then continue having a conversation around the bonfire. Discussing things about the places they have gotten so far after they have combined the map that they have drawn to the direction that they have headed to. It only ended when it was already late at night as everyone headed back to their houses.
Meanwhile, Zach himself was still wide awake seeing him in the living room looking at the items on the table that he had gotten from Patrick and the rest. All of them were already enhanced and though they were ordinary items, their function was greater than that of any unenhanced bronze-class item.

"Other than the Night Cloak, everything is now useless to me." Zach said since he already had bronze-class items on him, however, such items would be of great use when the Rangers of his base would regroup after the tutorial, and they would be unstoppable with his as the core.
Following that, Zach then just headed to his room where Eun Ae was already naked on the bed. Not having enough from what they did in the day, both then immediately started their late-night activities until one of them was brought down to bliss and thereon fell asleep.
Twelve days later, the day the tutorial will end has finally arrived. Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Eun Ae, Ishaan, and Luciana could be found in the living room of Zach's house as they waited for the time to come. They have been gathered together after Zach told them that they had something to discuss first.
"I've gathered you all here as I have a proposal to make. Have you considered working under me? I have never told this to you all before since I felt like there's no need to. In fact, before the tutorial began, I was the leader of a base with over a thousand survivors. So, as we have known each other for some time, I would like for you five to stick together with me." Zach said while looking at them seriously.
"Really? A base with over a thousand survivors?" Kazuya exclaimed as he looked at Zach. He then just felt that it was no surprise how he was so good at handling situations as he really wasn't an ordinary person like them. On the other hand, Patrick and the rest also felt the felt as they looked at Zach with respect.
"Yes. So, what do you think?" Zach answered with a smile upon seeing their reactions.
"T-That's too sudden but I don't see anything bad to it, so I accept. In fact, I and probably also the others have been already treating you as our leader, so I think there's no longer a need to think about it." Patrick said as he looked at Zach as that was really what he really felt, and it was the same for others seeing them all agreeing with him.
"That's good then from now on you will be under my care. Moving on, it's now time to discuss something important. I've been wondering all this time. The tutorial said that we would be sent back to where we came back from Earth. But how would we go back here? Well, I understand that in my case, it would be simple since I got the reward from the main mission but how about you?" Zach said after thinking about it for the past few days since it would be quite dramatic to bid farewell to them knowing that they had spent quite a lot of time together.
Hearing this, everyone was also stupefied after giving it some thought since aside from Eun Ae who will follow Zach back to America as she no longer had anyone to be with back in Korea, everyone wanted to get back in their country as they still had a family to return to but this would mean that they won't have a way to return to the shelter and this place as a whole if they do so.
Everyone was in a predicament as they contemplated the problem at hand. They don't know what comes after the tutorial, but they all guessed that it must be the same as what they are doing right now and that is to evolve. However, if they choose to return to their place, they don't know how they will get back here since Zach is the only one who had a Sanctuary Portal Totem as a reward after completing the main mission unless they would travel to America after they reunited with their family but that would be nigh impossible knowing that there no longer planes to ride on back on Earth.
"W-What do we do?" Patrick asked while losing some hope. He knew the answer too well as he couldn't just abandon his family, but it was too much of an exchange if he abandoned his chance to evolve knowing that he was not completely sure if they were still alive.
Kazuya and the others also felt the same and so it was then did they understood the importance of completing the main mission as it would not only enable them to become an owner of a shelter but also enable them to bring back a portal that would help them get back here in Pluto Sanctuary.
"I have a way, but I don't know if it was possible. Also, this will be a great secret that I want you to keep hidden from everyone for the rest of your lives. I trust everyone here, so I want you to promise me that you won't say and ask a single question about it." Zach said after finally moving to the important part of what he wanted to discuss.
Hearing Zach, everyone felt happy about it but they immediately turned serious after hearing his last words since they really could tell that he was serious about it. They then just looked at each other before nodding at Zach promising that they would not speak and ask anything and there they saw him take out five cylindrical-shaped items that had a button above it.

Everyone didn't have any idea as to what it was, however, when they used appraisal to it. Their eyes could be found wide open as they immediately looked at Zach wanting an explanation as to how he got so many of such things as the cylinder-shaped item was none other than the reward from the main mission, the Sanctuary Portal Totem.
"Like I said. No questions." Looking at their faces, Zach put his finger on his lips reminding them what he just said as he knew that what he did was suspicious since there was no way he could get such a thing from killing monsters as it was a reward from the system itself.
