"Yeah! Now we're talking!" Bo exclaimed. Jane looked over to the door and scowled.
"The only problem is if we tell my father about the bangle or even mention that we believe that Aziza is involved in all this, he will shut it all down. He'll forbid me from going to look for Iris; fearing it's too dangerous. What's more, he'll probably try and cover up any involvement Aziza has in this…" Jane said.
"Wait…what if he already is?" Bo asked, then scratched his chin. "Uncle Turry was acting really weird earlier when we saw him in the throne room. He didn't even want to send a search party for Iris and Aziza."
"No! Father wouldn't sacrifice Iris like that! Jurirai is his best friend!" Jane exclaimed.
"Even of it meant keeping your sister safe?" I asked. Jane looked away and gritted her teeth.
"We need to go now! The longer we wait, the more danger Iris is in, and it's been hours already." Jane said firmly. I cracked my knuckles and smirked, then looked towards the door.
"Okay then! Let's knock out a few guards and get the fuck out of here!" I said with a devilish grin. Jane hurried over and grabbed my shoulder to stop me.
"No we can't do that. So soon after an attack on the palace everyone's guard will be up. We also can't discount the notion that Aziza has a conspirator here feeding her information." Jane said. I groaned then shook my head.
"If that's true then Bo and I busting your out of here would alert that person and with magic that information could get to Aziza before we get to Iris. The only plausible reason that we would forcibly break you out of the palace is we know where Iris or at least the attackers are…" I said. Jane nodded.
"We need a way to sneak me out of here while still making it appear like I'm still in the room…an illusion maybe? No illusions can't talk…" Jane muttered.
"Oh! What if Jane and I switch bodies!" Bo exclaimed. Jane looked at Bo and scowled.
"We do what now?" She asked.
"Swap bodies! Sin has this cool spell that allows him to swap appearances with someone. However Chase made a version of the spell that allows him to swap the appearances of any people he wants. So you swap appearances with me and I stand in as Princess Jane while you pretend to be me and go save Iris!" Bo explained proudly. I arched a brow at Bo and nodded.
"That's actually a pretty solid plan." I said. Jane looked a little skeptical though.
"Is this painful?" She asked. Bo frowned at her.
"Does that matter? We're talking about saving Iris here!" Bo griped. Jane huffed and then nodded.
"You're right! Chase…let's do this!"
***
"Oh my gods this is weird!" Jane exclaimed while she looked at herself in the mirror.
"So this is what it feels Ike to be taller than someone…." Bo said as he looked down at Jane.
Bo and Jane had successful swapped appearances and clothes. Apart from the way they spoke it was impossible to tell they weren't who they said they were.
"Let's go. There's no time to lose!" Jane said with a huff as she turned towards the door. I nodded at her then looked to Bo, he was making a bunch of funny poses in the mirror which looked put of place with Jane's face. I popped him on the head and scowled.
"Remember you are supposed to be Jane. So act like it. If you get caught we're all in trouble!" I grumbled at him. Bo frowned and rubbed the back of his head.
"I know! Geez! If anyone comes into the room all act all princess like. All snooty and whatnot." Bo replied.
"By the gods that entire exchange felt weird…." Jane said with a sigh as she looked at the two of us from the door. I sighed then hurried over to Jane and opened the door.
Rowad and the other guards were still standing several feet away from the door woth their backs turned. Keeping up the ruse that they hadn't seen Bo and I enter a little bit ago. I motioned to Jane to be silent with a single finger to the lips then marched right past them. Jane followed my lead and walked right past them. In her current form the guards didn't pay her any mind since all they saw was Bo.
Jane and I quickly made it down the hallway and turned the corner out of the royal guards sight. We kept walking until we reached a part of the palace that was mostly deserted. Seeing that we were alone Jane stopped in the middle of the hall and leaned against the wall, letting out a sigh of relief.
"I can't believe that worked…." She groaned. I smirked and stopped to look at her.
"Of course it worked! It's one of my plans!" I said proudly. Jane frowned and shook her head.
"Actually it's one of Bo's plans but given how alike you and that boy are it does sound like one of the hair-brained schemes that you'd come up with." Jane commented. I frowned at her.
"Hair-brained?"
"Well how exactly are we getting off the palace grounds?" Jane asked.
"We're going to ride out of course. Remember: You're Bo Kestrel, not Jane Solomon. Nobody cares where you go." I said with a smirk. Jane's eyes widened then she smiled back at me.
"I think I could get used to this…" She said. I nodded then motioned her to follow me.
"Come on, you're dad already knows that Bo and I were going to go look for Iris and Aziza so we can just head towards the front gate." I said.
Jane lead the way as we went through the castle. Nobody batted a eyelash at Mr being lead around by Bo. In the last couple days Bo was seen wondering the palace alot by himself or accompanied by a guard or somebody. He already knew how to get around the castle by himself, at least to the important parts of the castle.
It only took us ten minutes to make our way to the front gates of the palace. We had to go through several check points in the palace to get to this point and there was a obscene amount of security. Mostly guards for keep guests from leaving or people from entering. While there wasn't anyone at the gates at the moment, the weariness on the guards face told me that they had dealt with a mob of people trying to leave recently.
"Halt! Nobody leaves by order of the Pharaoh." The leader of the guards said.
"I'm going to search for The Pharaoh's daughter and Princess Jane's guardian. Do not try and stop me." I said coldly. The guards all tensed and placed a hand on their weapons.
"By order of the Pharaoh…" The guardsmen started again only to be interrupted by me.
"Alpa'nagia, Bellial." I said softly as I summoned their crystalline structures and flung them behind Jane and I. When they emerged both Bellial and Alpa'nagia glared down at the guards.
"By order of the Star Shaper we are leaving…." Alpa'nagia hissed.
His eyes glowed with a menacing and Violet glow as he spoke and lightning sparked from his horn. Ice began to form around Bellial's feet and creeped along the ground towads the guards. He stared at them with all four of his eyes glowing with a bright blue light.
"You would be wise to listen to his decree, lest you anger my Savior." Bellial said, the malice in his voice made the guards all tremble.
The guards looked amongst themselves, the images of the carnage that Bellial and Alpa'nagia caused earlier that night still fresh in their mind. I stepped forwards and walked past the guards. None of them moved to stop me with my evos watching closely. Jane followed behind me silently with Bellial and Alpa'nagia following close behind her.
Once we were outside the palace walls I found us staring at a vast desert in at night. No clear and discernable roads were visible to us and I could sense strong spells cast on the outer walls. Most likely to obscure them from view.
"Bellial, you can return for now. Alpa'nagia I need toy to fly us as fast as you can." I said looking back over my shoulder at my evos.
"Of course Savior." Bellial said lowering his head slightly while he was enveloped by his structure and glee back into my farm crystal.
"Where are we going Star Shaper?" Alpa'nagia asked.
"Get us in the air and I'll tell you after." I said. Alpa'nagia nodded then reached down and grabbed Jane and I then quickly snapped open his wings and flew up into the sky. I looked over to Jane who was already activating the locator bangle.
"That way!" Jane said pointing to the south. The arrow pointing to Iris was still small and stretched thin.
Alpa'nagia flapped his wings and flew at a astonishing speed in the direction that Jane marked. I noticed with each flap of his wings Alpa'nagia was channeling shock attribute mana, channeling it through his body and wings while letting it flow over Jane and I like a shield. This was why he was able to move so quickly, he was literally riding lightning while flying.
"What's the plan when we get there?" Jane asked.
"Scout out the location, find Iris and Aziza, secure Iris, kill all the attackers, bring Aziza back in chains." I said with a nod. Jane nodded then looked down at her bangle.
The arrow was still as stretched out as it was in the castle only the direction seemed to have changed. It was now pointing southwest.
"Do you know much about the area around the palace?" I asked Jane.
"You mean the terrain?" Jane asked in reply. I nodded. Jane shook her head.
"I know it's mostly desert. There are a few oasis scattered around the desert but those are all to the north, near the Royal palace."
"I thought we were staying at the royal palace." I said cocking my head to the side as I looked at Jane. Jane shook her head.
"If you want to get technical that was the summer palace but it is where the children of the Pharaoh and Queen are raised away from the eyes of the public." Jane explained.
"Oh…right. That law that you and Iris tired to tell me about a few months ago. To keep you and your siblings from being the target of assassinations…like what happened earlier…" I said.
The bangle's arrow suddenly changed direction rapidly. Jane gasped and looked off in the new direction.
"Iris is moving and fast too!" Jane exclaimed. The arrow changed direction again and the length of it shortened showing that it was getting closer but only a little.
"Are they carrying her on the back of a evo?" Jane asked.
"We won't know until we catch up. Alpa, go higher and faster if you can." I ordered.
"Yes Star shaper!" Alpa'nagia responded and quickly ascended. Lightning sparked off our bodies as a sonic boom sounded behind us. Luckily Alpa'nagia was holding onto us tightly or we would have been knocked out of his hand through the centripetal force.
Alpa'nagia leveled out a about a mile up in the air but kept his speed up. From that high up we could see for miles around. Jane and I looked in the direction that Alpa'nagia was heading and saw a large dust cloud many miles ahead of us.
"Is that…a stampede of wild evos?" Jane asked.
"Are there any wild evos that can live in large packs in Egypt?" I asked. Jane shook her head.
"The only evos that are allowed to live wild are skuzzards and Chiwas. But neither of them would be traveling in large groups through the desert. Chiwas need water and Skuzzards fly so it wouldn't be either of them." Jane said.
The large dust cloud suddenly changed course and the arrow on the locator changed as well. Jane and I pointed at the dust cloud and yelled up at Alpa'nagia.
"IT'S THE DUST CLOUD! FOLLOW IT!" Jane and I bellowed.
Alpa'nagia hissed in response and sped towards the dust cloud. He remained high above the dust cloud and gained on it. As we got closer it became apparent that whatever was causing that dust cloud was far larger than anything evo he knew about and not even a steed could move that fast. It was moving well over a hundred miles an hour.
[WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!] Bone-lasher bellowed suddenly.
"OW! FUCK!" I bellowed and grabbed my head.
[Idiot! Don't yell at the Star Shaper!] Alpa'nagia hissed at Bone-lasher.
[Shut up lizard lips! Look at this Boss!] Bone-lasher snapped.
Bone-lasher shared his vision with me and I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. There was a long snake made of crystal and stone that seemed to be broken up into three parts. At the front was a sleek and angular snout looking piece that was over forty feet long. The two segments that it pulled behind it was at least fifty-five feel long each Nad over fourteen feet tall. The whole monstrosity seemed to be moving on top of rails made of solid mana. It was moving so fast that it if anyone other than Alpa'nagia was following after it I was sure they'd lose it quickly.
"What the hell is that?!" I exclaimed.
"What?" Jane asked.
"Bone-lasher showed me what's inside that dust cloud. That is not a evo!" I exclaimed. Jane scowled and looked over at the cloud.
"What is it?" Jane asked. I shrugged.
"A large crystal…snake thingy? I don't know! Whatever it is it's moving well over a hundred miles and hour and creating rails made of mana under it as it moves. The rails disappears ones it moves past them too!" I replied. Jane arched a brow at my explanation then narrowed her eyes at the cloud.
"Can he see inside it?" Jane asked.
[No, that shell is thick and we're too far away.] Bone-lasher replied.
"No joy. We need to get closer." I said.
"Then I will get us closer!" Alpa'nagia exclaimed.
A orb of white suddenly formed around us, increasing our speed even further and causing another sonic boom behind us. Thankfully the orb protected Jane and I better from the wind and we were no longer being pushed deeper into Alpa'nagia's hand. Alpa'nagia quickly caught up to the crystal snake and soon we were flying directly over it, about a mile up.
[I SEE INSIDE!] Bone-lasher yelled proudly then shares his vision.
The inside of the crystal snake looked like a mix of the passenger cabins of the Terraback and evo transports used by techno-splicing companies. There segmant at the back of the thing was a vast open space at least thirty feet wide that looked like it had been remodeled as sleeping quarters. There were makeshift beds and hammocks hung from various places all over the place. At least fifty of them. I could see twenty men and women in the car, either injured or tending to the injured.
The next segment looked to be the living/storage compartment of the metal snake. There were tables and a poorly made galley inside. Like its where all the mercenaries sat down for meals. There were also basins wet up with what looked like clothing lines beside it to wash and dry clothes. I could count five men inside there.
In the lead segment It looked like the control center foe the entire thing. There were pedestals and panels similar to the ones that we saw up on the space station scattered around the space. In the center of the room sat a large crystal basin that obviously did something but we couldn't see it through Bone-lasher's vision. Inside that segment I could see the two omni-souled splicers standing at a control panel at the front of the segment. Aziza was standing beside them and the three looked to be in a heated conversation.
Towards the back of the segment I saw Iris. She was alive but tied up. Her mask was off so it was obvious that she wasn't Jane but they were keeping her for some reason. I wasn't complaining however I was just happy to see her alive.
"I SEE IRIS! SHE'S ALIVE!" I exclaimed happily.
"REALLY? THANK THE GODS!" Jane cried out clutching her chest.
"There are about twenty-seven of the mercenaries on board that thing. Aziza is with two omni-souled splicers at the front of it and Iris is nearby. Azkza is definitely not a prisoner." I relayed. Jane gritted her teeth.
"How is Iris?" Jane asked. I quickly checked again then gritted my teeth.
"She's injured. I think she has some broken bones…I can definitely see a compound fracture that they didn't bother to treat on her arm." I said then looked to Jane.
Jane looked straight ahead with a look a unnerving calm on her face. Her eyes burned with a unbridled fury that matched the anger I felt at seeing Iris hurt.
"Chase…can I have a mana-lock and a enchanted blade?" Jane asked holding a arm out to me.
"You're going to use the mana-lock?" I asked, a little surprised. She knew how to use it thanks to the shooting lesson but hadn't wanted or needed to before now.
"Iris is hurt and in danger…I'll use a rusty hammer if it means it gets her away from those fucking bastards!" Jane snarled.
Looking into her eyes I could see prim, proper, and polite Jane was gone right now. Before me was a side of Jane I hadn't seen before. In her eyes I saw the savagery of Bone-lasher, the cunning of Alpa'nagia, and rage of Jiggles. The look seemed even more out of place on Bo's gave. the child like innocence of it ruined by the fury.
"They killed Iris brother, put her father in a coma, killed so many of my father's guest, and nearly killed you! They will not live to brag about this to anybody, I will see all of them in hell!"
Hey! HUTEXA_THE_DJINN Here! Just a friendly reminder that I will be going on vacation on the 15th and there won't be any chapter released however there will be something released.
