Eve couldn't help but break into a smile at his suggestion, but before she could utter another word, the door burst open, revealing Henrik entering with trays of delicious food.

"I wasn't aware that they stopped serving food after dinner," Henrik remarked, placing the trays on the table. Unaware of the tension in the room, he uncovered the tray, unveiling a variety of mouthwatering dishes and pastries for Eve. "Can you believe that?" he exclaimed, looking at Max, whose expression had darkened due to the interruption.

"Thank you for the food," Eve promptly expressed her gratitude. She was genuinely famished, and she secretly appreciated Henrik's untimely entrance. She thanked him not just for the meal but also for sparing her from the impulsive act of undressing and indulging the vampire sitting beside her.
