"Love... Love is a relative term. No one really knows what it means, do they?" Max arched an eyebrow and gazed at her with curious eyes.

"Still..." Eve was at a loss for words. She never expected that it was actually the Queen all along! "Are you aware that she was working with a blood sorcerer?"

"I have my suspicions," he replied. "Vampires who live very long lives do not necessarily care about the rules anymore. Many of them... only seek the thrill. Some enjoy breaking the rules."

Silence hung in the air as Eve processed his words.

"There is no need to worry. I will personally talk to the Queen," Max reassured her.

"And if she refuses to listen to you?" she asked.

"Then I can end her," Max stated matter-of-factly. "This place... it will survive without a Queen."
