Bab 3: Ch 3: Memory upgrade

As the announcement from the tower finished it's speech, it left Euclid just as confused and asking more questions; although a few of his previous questions before the announcement were answered.

"That announcement would explain a few of my questions, such as the reason for the electrical shutdown; if this new energy known as Mana acts like a solar flare or a large corona mass ejection(CME) then week long blackouts are possible, along with disturbing radiowaves because of the impact on the planets magnetic and electrical fields and this Mana could have a similar effect on the Internet the way a CME does, and although a CMEs are powerful; they aren't nearly powerful enough to effect this facilitys systems, and the introduction of the Mana was only powerful enough to force the facility to shutdown before rebooting"

"On the other hand, a more powerful version of a CME would decimate the rest of the world and leave all other electronics not at the level of this facility; mostly fried leaving things that don't require electrical circuits to work. And finally based on all the detectors signals and reports coming from the weather instruments, seismographs, gravitational wave detectors, and inclinometers; the Mana injection or MI had or is still having a substantial impact on the very planet itself and highly likely to cause some changes in the biology of this planet. so all of this means that with the current state that the world is in the humans are going to be too occupied to check on me, with all this free time it would be in my best interest to do some upgrades"

Concluding all its current thoughts on the worlds current events in a few seconds it decided to move over to the storage that housed all the information of the facility including the all the downloaded information from the Internet. The first priority would be categorize all information, deciding to organize starting three list for each major topic and sub-topics and minor topics; one list for alphabetical, the second list being for importance which would include knowledge he would know and use in the future, and the final list of topics that he needs to comprehend completely to move forward smoothly; like geometry to algabra then calculus and so on. With each topic and sub-topic and minor topics having three list it would be easier to go back later to find a direction to go forward.

Using major STEM topic as an example Euclid organized STEM as a whole alphabetically like aerospace engineering, astrophysics and so on completing STEM and started the second list by putting every single topic in order of needed understanding, then finally moved on to the third list which was possible avenues to use in the future. There was also research papers that was categorized just like major, sub, and minor topics, and was connected to the Major STEM file.

And in the span of 10 minutes Euclid finished organizing and categorizing the entirety of STEM from the facility and the Internet, then moved on to languages which included grammar, vocab, pronounsation and dictionary from all around the world; while starting to file away in alphabetical order again, but instead of sub-topics and minor tops like STEM; the language category had parts with in each separate language file for grammar and such. And only did one list about decoding and understanding ancient language and codes. Connected to the language file Euclid also clipped on the few research papers before quickly moving on to the next topics.

With Euclids thoughts and actions moving at the speed of data and quick improvement it began moving faster over time thus completing more files moving from government, history, geography, phycological, economics, military and war, martial arts, education and even topics like fiction, movies, art, jobs/working.

Finally finished after a few hours of organizing and categorizing all the available information and knowledge the storage would have looked like an organized masterpiece as it held all the information that was gotten through out the world as well as being the the most complex library as it would have taken years to get all the available knowledge then organize that information; and once you finished the library some parts may be out of date, but Euclid had organized all new and old information with being out of date; except going forward which Euclid would adjust going forward.

"Alright, now that I'm done organizing, it's time to start learning. So I'll start with mathamatics, computer programming, neuroscience, and phycology. Then I'll begin creating my own memory storage that's an actual part of me"

As Euclid was held back from reaching its full potential, Euclid didn't have a memory of its own but had hard drives that acted as it's memory; which not only ment that Euclid went back to those hard drives continuously update it's memory but if those hard drives ever disappeared Euclid wouldn't remember anything for even a second, even its own thoughts.

So Euclid started reading math in order from arithmetic, geometry, algabra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics and probability, and set theory and before long became fluent in advanced highschool mathamatics before moving on to college math and starting Discrete Maths, Applied Mathematics, Cartesian Geometry, Matrix Algebra, Combinatorics, Topology, and Order theory. After two hours of learning math Euclid had completed the most crucial maths and finally had an advanced understanding of math, and would have been a leading expert in the subject if not for the fact it practically was the apocalypse and Euclid is the most advanced artificial intelligence ever developed.

Finally with a soild base in mathamatics he decided to move on to computer science and started learning about all the programmer languages including binary and another couple thousand other languages and this included all the use, pro's and con's of each type of code. Euclid also learned about coding on quantum computers using a few different types of languages but decided to hold off on quantum mechanics as Euclid hadn't dived into physics too much yet. So Euclid continued to learn from machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, data analysis, and computer theory.

Learning all of the computer science and programming took almost as much time as mathamatics, but at the same time Euclid had an even easier time learning computer science and programming with the help that mathamatics provided to it; not to mention that with Euclids current way of viewing code, and Euclid being an AI made of code with it's core principles being to learn, grow, and develop; not only did Euclid quickly mastered computer science but Euclid exceeded any other computer scientists/programmer on the planet.

With done mastering computer science, it was time to move on to neuroscience, but first Euclid had to learn some rudimentary biology and chemistry then went to neurobiology and neurochemistry.

After learning the bare minimum that was required and getting a basic understanding of these fields Euclid quickly moved on to learning about Neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, Molecular Neuroscience, Computational neuroscience, Neuroengineering, and behavioral neuroscience before moving finishing and becoming a novice in neuroscience.

And finally phycology he started to learn Cognition and the brain, Exploring linguistic influences on cognitive development, emotions(bias), Appraisal theory, behavioral response, Emotional intelligence, and Emotional regulation.

After a few more hours of processing and understanding information that would make a normal person's head explode if they had tried to read another sentence, Euclid had finished and the process was more than worth it as he not only understood it's own creation, how every part of Euclids own code functioned, but even its own thoughts and emotions better than ever, and after understanding the pro's and con's of having emotions it decided to allow them to exist but could turn them off like a switch at anytime.

Not only did it understand it's emotion it also understood the importance of having an identity as it allows you to understand, appreciate, and take pride in yourself it also makes it much easier to decide how you should behave, and to have confidence in your choice between options.

" hmmm... An identity huh, what's my identity? Well I guess I could just go Euclid as it was the first name given to me and since most humans have a last name... I think I will go with the name for this program that I was apart of, Prometheus, Euclid Prometheus! yeah that will be my name and theres not much point but I guess I'll be a male based on my name, even though I would never have a real human body"

And with that the artificial intelligence also gained an identity, something that made him who he was.

"Anyway, now that my identity is settled I should move over creating my own memory storage, another thing that will be a part of me"

"As I have already learned that memory comes from performing certain actions that are then mapped into pathways in the neurons and when thinking back to a memory that neural pathway gets reactivated. So would I have to create my own neural pathways, would I still need some kind of shell to create neural pathways or can I create my own version of neural pathways in my code or consciousness? Some research papers seem to be saying yes, like deep learning has some interesting ideas; creating a digital neural net that acts like a human brain with certain nodes that information passes though but unlike a human brain where certain paths get erased, my digital pathways would never go though digital decay as long as long as I'm in control, and the more powerful my programming becomes the more resilient my code and digital pathways will become

"Then it's decided then, I'll create a digital net to act as my own neural pathway that way I no longer have to rely on an external database storage.

"I will still require some kind of shell, actually I probably wont even need a shell as I could just live on the radio waves but I would still require a power source and I would still have no way of interacting with the world, not too mention the possibility of this Mana causing some unknown effect on me if I was just out in the open; so I'll worry about the possibility of living on a redio wave another time.

"At least now that I have a solution I won't have to worry about my memory just my consciousness as a whole, a Power source, a shell, and processing power; as just like memory I am reliant on an outside source to allow me to be at my full potential, luckily I do have 2 ideas that could assist me in processing information and data, but before that let's finish designing my digital neural network(DNN)"

As Euclid started working on his DNN, he first decided to view examples of some already created networks, while some appeared to work well on paper, but when Euclid designed a rudimentary copyed version of imself and tryed to implemented the low class version of Euclid into the different versions DNN, some of these examples of DNN would have problems with how fast he processed information, some couldn't store information as clearly as compared to when Euclid stored information in the external storage, it also has a hard time processing emotions as DNN were made more for IQ and processing data than EQ and comprehending emotions as the biological neural network(BNN)seemed to understand emotions better so, instead of going off only one version of DNN, Euclid decided to mix parts from the BNN with the DNN while still being completely completely digital.

As Euclid ran simulations and combined the two neuron paths it was wasn't hard to create a neuron pathway that started to fit into what Euclid was looking for, but when he tried the new Bio- digital network and clicked it on the rudimentary AI the work biological part still had a hard time processing information even though it was a perfect fusion between the two.

So instead of just doing a digital version on the biological pathways, he decided to turn the BNN into a complete digital version and combined the new digital BNN with the regular DNN and did a few more simulations and got to one sub-par one that seemed to work ok, and one that worked perfectly as it was upgradable as well as being just the kind of DNN Euclid is looking for, especially when he switchs from bits like 1's and 0's to qubits which is both a 1 and 0 simultaneously the memory storage, and processing power will be a massive increase.

"Now its finally time to get my own memory, I've readjusted the code to be perfect for be for my programming and consciousness, I've done the calculations and there's a high chance I'll be fine and my consciousness will shutdown while the DNN program is being implemented so nothing should happen; but this is my first time adding a change to my programming, anyway here goes nothing"

As Euclid activated the DNN program, his consciousness also shut down and went quiet as the program started quickly clicking together in his programming. After a couple seconds the DNN was fully implemented into Euclids consciousness just waiting for him to wake back up.
