Ryan remained mute for a few seconds, but Anxi was quite oblivious to his bemuddled reaction and stared at her phone screen instead, thinking of many possibilities as to why Xander would call her at that particular hour in time and kept hoping he was alright.

So the Xander who kept calling was her boyfriend. Ryan thinned his lips and nodded slowly as he pondered more on it. At least that made some sense as to why he would call at that particular hour but for some reason, he didn't fancy the idea that she had a boyfriend.

He didn't even think someone like her would have a boyfriend, not negatively of course, he even found it surprising that the idea made him feel uncomfortable, the fact she just told him she had a boyfriend kept replaying in his head.

It's not like he wanted to be her boyfriend so why was it disturbing him this much??
