Parallel world.
Aquamarine.
San Antonio City.
In an old and dilapidated house located in the slums.
Frey sat on the creaking wooden chair with disbelief in his eyes.
Staring at the mirror in front that reflected his pale complexion, he wasn't able to hide his shock.
"This… how did this happen?"
"How am I still alive?!"
The questions coming out of Frey's mouth sound incomprehensible and disturbing.
Fortunately, there is no one else around to listen to his mutterings.
Frey turned his eyes at the old phone placed near him and opened it.
When he saw the date, Frey pondered for a while and finally came to a ridiculous conclusion.
"I somehow went back to the past!"
It sounds absurd even to him, but this is the only explanation he could think of in this situation.
Frey felt greatly shocked at this realization.
However, it didn't take long for Frey's shock to be replaced with joy and excitement!
"This… this is really amazing!"
For a moment, he was overwhelmed with happiness and started cheering.
Only after a few minutes later did he finally manage to calm himself down.
Frey sorted out his thoughts for a second and said,
"This is such a heaven defying phenomenon. What could possibly have caused me to travel back in time?"
Saying that, Frey started recalling what he was doing before.
"If I remember correctly, I should be out in the streets in the middle of the night to cool my head from all the stress."
"But due to a series of unfortunate coincidences, I arrived on a bridge and fell down the river."
"Since I don't know how to swim, I drowned right then and there."
Thinking of all this, Frey can't help but sigh at his own luck.
"Saying all this now makes me think back just how unlucky and stupid that was of me."
Frey continued thinking hard and finally thought of something.
He looked down his neck and saw that it was empty.
"I knew it. My necklace is really missing."
Originally, Frey had a necklace with a crystal in the shape of a book that he always wear.
It was something that he found in an antique store in the past and took a liking to.
The antique store owner saw just how much he likes it and ended up giving it to him.
For that reason, Frey always wore it and considered it as most precious possession.
But now, that very same thing is gone from his neck.
With that, Frey said, "That means, what I saw back at that time wasn't a hallucination, huh."
Moments before Frey lost consciousness in the water, he saw that crystal book necklace suddenly light up and burst into countless light particles.
Then those light particles went into his body just before he fell unconscious.
And after that, Frey woke up here, in this old dilapidated house in the slums.
Frey furrowed his brow and said, "It's not certain yet, but that necklace could be the reason why this happened."
Pausing for a second, he continued, "Just what was that necklace really is then?"
However, no matter how much he tried to think, an answer could not be found.
Shaking his head, Frey decided to stop thinking about it for now.
Next, he turned his attention to his surroundings.
A trace of nostalgia can't help but emerge on Frey's face.
"This place, it's been years since it got cleaned and was turned into a mall."
"I never thought that I would ever see it again like this."
After a short pause, Frey muttered, "... I'm really back, huh…"
Clenching his fist, a determined look appeared on his face.
"Then I won't waste this miraculous opportunity given to me!"
"And… I will make those people who turned my life miserable suffer the same way I did!"
A resolute light flashed through Frey's light as he thought about certain people in his previous life.
The life that Frey went through wasn't an easy one.
At the young age of 12, his parents died, leaving him alone in the slums to fend for himself in this harsh world.
In order to survive, Frey did all sorts of odd jobs just to earn money to feed himself.
Then when he turned 18 years old, he started applying for more decent jobs.
He was pretty lucky and managed to enter a BPO company as a call center agent.
From there, his life started to get better.
That is until he met the person that made everything turn upside down.
A beautiful woman who he thought was an angel but was actually a demon!
That woman pulled Frey into the world of showbiz after seeing his good looks.
Calling herself a manager, she promised a bright future to Frey in the showbiz industry.
But in the end, it was actually a pit that made his life a living hell!
The public viewed him as a stupid man with a faulty mindset.
He was portrayed as a person who will do nothing just for traffic, for the people's attention!
And in the end, that woman did something that really ruined his life just before he died.
At the time that he died, Frey was only 28 years old.
There was still so much ahead of him.
But in the end…
Shaking his head, Frey took a deep breath and stopped thinking about it for now.
He said, "Anyway, for now I should first think of what I will do from now on."
Based on the date that he saw on his phone, Frey knew that he went back in time just a few days after he turned 18.
This was around the time that he was looking for a decent job.
Rubbing his chin that have some small stubbles, Frey pondered,
"Hmm… should I continue applying as a call center agent or should I do something else this time?"
Faced with this life changing question, it didn't take long for Frey to come up with a decision.
