When Gu Xijiu finally took Wu Qianyan out of the prison in the Monster Kingdom, she quickly settled her down in a guest inn where she could rest. Gu Xijiu tried to contact Fan Qianshi using her sensing ability to get him to stay with Wu Qianyan and be her caretaker. Still, the boy never answered or returned her call.

Her sensing ability was supposed to be a form of telepathic communication. Only her disciple and her servant were equipped with the ability to receive her call. She could easily reach out to them as long as they stayed within a radius of a few hundred miles.

Therefore, Gu Xijiu's failure to communicate with Fan Qianshi could only mean two things - he was either hundreds of miles away or was trapped in some sort of forbidden land.
