Jeremiah glanced at her reluctantly but he obediently sat back.

Esme did not do much as to spare him a glance as she walked out of the dining room. The little food she had eaten was threatening to make a reappearance as she picked up her gown and ran inside the hallway under the surprised gazes of the servants and soldiers.

They had pretty much seen her like a calm and poised doll. They had to be shocked to see her running like an uncultured woman.

But did she care?

She did not.

Her feet slowed down when she reached the hall where Aleister's room was, adjacent to hers.

At the further end, she saw that maid whispering something in his ear.

Before Esme could use her powers to eavesdrop, the delicate woman had already pulled back and all that was left for Esme to see was Aleister's charming smile.
