She had a whistling breath, her face struck dead and numb at the sight of his face that seemed to have lost interest in the enchanted kiss  that was already  taking place. She wondered why he was wiping his lips with the back of his palms.

Didn't he enjoy the kiss or what? She thought; raising her eyebrows to a chisel look and feeling weak and drawn.

"I am sorry  Ella" he apologized to her, feeling he needed to do so because of her blisters and not really for quenching the brief kiss. "I should just help you with this," he said and squatted to pick up the shard of glasses on the floor.
