Bab 9: Chapter 9 Ego is neither good nor bad it is just a result of a lack of self-awareness.
The universe began with a singularity — a point of infinite density and temperature whose nature is difficult for minds to grasp.
The universe was born about 72,000 years in a massive expansion that blew space up like a gigantic balloon.
Then the universe started expanding at an ever-accelerating rate.
So the very beginning of the universe was pretty murky.
The universe underwent an extremely brief and dramatic period of inflation, expanding faster than the speed of light. It doubled in size perhaps 100 times or more, all within the span of a few tiny fractions of a second.
This rapidly expanding universe was pretty much empty of matter, but it harbored huge amounts of dark energy. Dark energy is the mysterious force that is refined by the real universe and then re-refined by the inner universe of Pangu.
Although this dark energy is the best for cultivators it will soon be diluted millions of times over so to make sure weak cultivators and mortals can stay in this universe.
That is also the reason why the first creatures in the immortal world would be the dragons the qilins the vermilion birds the phoenixes and other strong primordial beasts.
Dào Zhī Shàng asked the ancestor of great balance "Well it is time to seal your memories. Do you have anything to say before you get reincarnated?"
The ancestor of great balance answered "Ye..."
But before he could finish Dào Zhī Shàng smiled and said "Great since you have no questions I will be starting to seal your memories"
Dào Zhī Shàng had already started sealing his memories and only left him with only the memory of the absorbing luck cultivation technique.
What Dào Zhī Shàng did not tell him was that it would only start absorbing luck at the Heavenly Immortal cultivation level but before that it would be like any other cultivation technique just faster but it also had a disadvantage it was almost impossible to cultivate to the Dao immortal realm.
Cultivating to that point he would need the rest of the cultivation technique and it was impossible to add the missing part as far as Dào Zhī Shàng knew because it included the luck, Dao.
The second disadvantage was it goes with the following it only takes if the person has karma with you for example if someone stole a book from the ancestor of great balance he could keep taking their luck until their deaths or if he preached to people he could keep taking their luck but if someone returns a small gesture to you your karma with them is finished for example returning soil for your book although it is worthless to you karma with them is finished unless you refuse it completely.
The third disadvantage is cultivators of the same realm might feel something if their senses are closer to yours even someone of a lower realm can sense it as long as they have minor completion in the Dao of Karma and you can not use it on any Dao realm cultivator since they do not have physical luck since their luck is contained in their Dao even trying has severe consequences.

A few years later with the help of the ancestor of great balance, he sealed his soul and made it look like he was injured and could not remember anything.
Dào Zhī Shàng knew this was a gamble if the great way has any intelligence it will try to imprison the ancestor of great balance but since it is fairly new and has not been polluted by the shrewdness and cunningness of living beings it will just reincarnate him if it does not do that Dào Zhī Shàng will immediately leave.
When the great way saw the ancestor of great balance it was immediately interested in this creature and sent him into the reincarnation Dao.
Although this Dao was not perfect and needed a lot of energy to function it was still there.
It was like a pipe that had many leaks and the great way would be like hands covering those leaks so that he would be reincarnated.
All Daos are like that at the moment but the living beings will perfect them as time goes and the great way will receive a generous return on investment.
But the great way does not know this it is like computer learning although it might not be good in the first few years after creating beasts that are simple and honest. And demons which are only interested in wars and fighting these changes after the creation of devils which are very cunning and deceiving and the humans which are selfish and profit-seeking.
Although the gods had some emotions they were not of any help. Their most prominent emotions are heartlessness and naivety.
They were either too extreme or too unfeeling. Dào Zhī Shàng had always looked down on them even in his previous universe.
They were like parasites and had no true power of their own none of them is ever recorded to have reached the Dao immortal realm since they are leeches.
It was not that Dào Zhī Shàng looked down on leeching
In fact, he admired leeching it took him a while to learn it was not wrong to leech of others it makes you look simple and easy to be bought and the host can even protect you from wind and rain while you slowly start eating it by the time it has figured you are trying to kill it. It is already too weak to take action.
And the worst thing about gods is their ego or arrogance they believe they are above everything.
Ying Zheng believes ego is neither good nor bad it is just a result of a lack of self-awareness.
Dào Zhī Shàng also believes ego starts to fade as you become aware of it since ego and awareness can not coexist. This state is also referred to as the quiet mind where the constant chatter of the ego subsides and you are completely present.
The best way to get rid of the ego is through meditation. Meditation is not a means of forgetting ego the ego it is the means of using the ego to observe and tame its own manifestation.
