Bab 10: Great Serphedia
I've been trying to understand the process of evolution and... hmmm.. I don't know how to understand this. It's like being a child and when you wake up, you suddenly became a teenager. Like your growth spurt just attacked you with one massive invasion.
Although the way I felt at that time, I felt like a lego piece being reconstructed. Like a caterpillar in the process of being a butterfly, yeah, that's how it looked like to me.
I also seemed to have passed out for a day, (my senses told me) so it's my fourth day in this world now. In no time at all, in less than a week, I've already evolved. Is this supposed to be normal?
Of course, not! If it is, my siblings that came with me would've evolved too!
Even though they are a smart species, they seem to neglect the idea of battle strategy. Like how mother just said to attack and nothing else—although there was that time where we split up... nevermind, that was anything but a strategy.
My older brothers also just attack just as much, thinking that any acid can kill it. Although their acid was powerful, it wasn't just enough to K.O. that crimson rat. If they could've known that though, one shot of their acid would've been enough.
Those Crimson Rats are really like cars or any vehicle of sorts. They are really hard on the outside but if you mess with the insides—even just one malfunction can tear it all apart. I don't know if this is the case of ours but it seems that way.
We're also very weak to fire, as every living creature should. Except in this world, there are creatures in this world that tamed fire for their own. How are they doing that, anyway?
I do remember one bug in my previous life—The Bombardier Beetle. It has chambers in its rear end that has chemicals on it, it then uses the chemicals for self-defense. Although it is more accurate to say that it is acid like mine, the chemical is said to be burning hot—causing extreme pain.
If my species and the Rattus mimics this principle and evolved it further into advanced weapons—then it is plausible.
I looked at the puddles of water dripping from the ceiling as I looked at my face more closely. Evolution seems to have changed my appearance as it is more clear to see that I now have a triangular and a flat head and scales that seem to protrude. This protrusion makes me look like I have scales for eyelashes.
Now that you think about it, I look like the vipers I once found at the zoo I visited. Although those guys really love to climb on trees, they are ambush predators.
So, this is weird. I look different from my older brothers that evolved the same as mine but I can't appraise myself when it doesn't even tell what kind of Serphedia I am. Does this mean I'm another species of Serphedia—like the Greater Serphedias?
Anyway, I'm gonna eat this Crimson rat since I'd know it's gonna steamed in the inside. Ahaha, I'm already drooling and I've been hungry since I evolved.

I realized that my status sky-rocketed and even though I'm back at level 1, it does not seem to look like my strength has gone down either. Although the MP is still lacking on the full-capacity side, it's because I still feel hungry.
Now that I'm done here, I need to help my siblings from trouble and who knows how much of those Crimson Rats are there but I still need to be careful. I don't know if my [Acid Spit] is enough to kill it but if not, then it's straight to the mouth.
I can't be afraid anymore, now that I've mutated like my Greater Siblings, I'd expect that I'm more powerful than the regular Great Serphedia.
After that, I went on an eating spree. Using the torches as a way to cook those rats that needs cooking. Still, it would've been better if there were salt here to give it a bit more flavor. It's so bland!
I saved some of my siblings as I gathered them up to about thirty of us. They seem to be surprised over my looks because they have been staring at me for a while now, it's really embarrassing.
I led them to the stairway that leads upward back to the nest and expressed my head to tell them to go home and heal up. I used my [Judgement] on them to give it some experience and went back to help some more.
I'm like a hero now that I've saved a lot of my kin. I wonder what my mother will reward me after this, I'm so excited! Yes, I'm in it for the food and I plan to bring some torches for it to get cooked.
Anyways, it was until hours later when I met a couple of Lesser Serphedia that seems like their Great sibling disappeared. Did it die? I could only imagine the only things that could kill a Great Serphebia were those Red and Crimson rodents... or maybe a lot of those Great Rattus.
I saved them and I suddenly felt a tingling sensation on my bring while talking to them.
"Save... us."
A word... did this little snake say that? I shrugged my head and unconsciously talked, "Leave this all to me." and I realized they understood. I was startled since I was shouting once and nobody understood or took mind of me. I also tried to talk in my siblings but they didn't seem to react.
Anyway, I shrugged the idea until an explosion happened in the corner. Dust and smoke appeared as my Great siblings got catapulted and hit the wall. I went to help them to see what caused them to get thrown that much...
What?...
A humanoid figure, twice the size of the human skeleton stood up before me. They had a green and wide body, a pig's nose, and red-eyes. They seem to have tusk from the their lower teeth that extend upwards. They were also wearing what seems to be fur and leather to cover their bodies.
No way...
