Bab 26: 26 : Faith
{ Christopher's POV }
2 Hours Earlier.
" Dang I'm too tired! "
Greg shouted.
" There's no time to waste. We'll leave you here if you will be lazy. "
I said to him.
We can't see clearly through the road because the fog's too thick.
" Be cautious. There might be infecteds or runners waiting for us. "
Felix announced.
* I've got 11 rounds left. This might be dangerous for us. *
Then Greg went towards me.
" Hm? What is it? "
I asked him.
" I need to pee. Please wait me here. "
Greg said and he went at the side.
I sat down for a second and checked my bag.
* Good, the important thing is still here. I must protect it at all cost. *
Then Greg went back and we continued walking.
I looked at the map and then a car showed up.
They didn't stopped at our location and they kept heading forward.
" Dammit! That car- if we can steal it later, we'll be there faster and we won't be exhausted walking forever. "
Felix said.
* Yes, he's right. We could probably attack those people inside and steal it. *
I decided.
" We need to move faster, we'll attack them if they would come back here. For the sake of our base and for our friends in there. "
I announced to them.
They both smiled and walked faster.
* They look happy after I said that huh? *
After a while, we still cannot see the car going back in our location.
" They won't come back. "
Felix said.
" But I thought they wou- "
Greg looked at us but he didn't saw that he tripped on a string.
" Idiot look out! "
I shouted and pushed him.
" Chris! You are bleeding! "
Felix said.
I looked at my legs and an arrow pierced through it.
* This fucking hurts... *
I tried to remove it but it doubles the pain.
Then Felix pulled me at the side.
" What the hell are you..doing?! "
I asked him.
" We will rest here. You can't move forward. "
Felix answered.
" No- There's no time to waste here! I'd rather die doing something. "
I said and stood up.
* I can't walk like this... *
" Where's Greg? "
I asked Felix.
" Uh oh...shit where the hell did he go... "
Felix said and looked for him.
Then I saw someone showed up at the forest.
I reached for my shotgun and aimed at it.
" Show yourself. "
I announced.
" I am so sorry....I wanted to give you this.. "
Greg showed up and handed me a wooden stick.
" I'll patch you up and use that so we can move forward.. "
Greg added and opened his bag.
He kneeled down and cleaned it with an alcohol.
* Shit! This hurts.. *
" Pull it! "
I said to him.
He didn't heard it so I did it myself. I slowly touched it and pulled it out.
" Dammit it hurts! "
I shouted but I don't want to faint so I endured it.
Greg finished cleaning my wound and applied some bandages in it.
" There you go... "
He whispered and stood up.
I tried to walk but I can't so I used the thing that he gave me.
* This really helps. *
" Felix... he's still looking for you. "
I said to Greg.
We went forward and saw something getting nearer to us.
The light is blinding us so we couldn't see it.
* Is this the car?! Shit they'll kill me! *
" Dummy! Get inside. "
Felix shouted.
" Huh? Felix...? How did you- "
Greg asked him.
" Just get inside and I'll explain everything. "
He announced.
Greg helped me to get in the car.
" Thanks for helping me, but be cautious with everything. I won't be there forever beside you you might get killed because of you. "
I said to him and he went inside too.
I looked inside the car and saw a radio below us.
" Bingo! "
I said and turned it on.
« Where the hell are you guys?! Boss is waiting for you all! »
I smiled and replied,
" Yes, we'll be coming back for another week. Please prepare everything because we saw a bunch of infecteds and runners heading towards the base! We got stucked here because they're too many... "
I turned off the radio.
* They probably believed it. Idiots. *
" So this is from our base too huh? "
Felix said.
" Oh I didn't know that. We'll surprise them when we come back. "
I said and hid the radio in my bag.
" We've been traveling for an hour and a half now, and the gas is running out. "
Felix announced to us and I checked everywhere.
* Yep, no extra gas here. *
" Look! There's probably supplies inside that car! "
Greg said and pointed at the other car.
We stopped.
" I'll check it. Wait for me. "
Felix said and he grabbed the pistol.
He slowly approached the car but we can't see clearly because the fog is too thick.
I opened the window and saw him knocking in the car's door.
* What the hell is he doing...? *
Then a runner showed up.
I kicked its face but nothing happened.
" Greg help! "
I said but he's not replying.
I kept kicking its face.
It almost bit me but Greg smashed its head with his bat.
" Whew....thank god.... "
I whispered.
" What the hell happened? "
Felix asked.
I looked at him and saw someone behind him.
" Look behind you! "
Greg shouted and he laughed.
" What? You kidding? "
The boy replied.
" Shi- Shino?! "
I asked.
" Of course. It's me. "
He replied.
* I didn't recognized him at first. He's clearly different than before. *
They both went inside.
Greg went near me and whispered,
" Who is he? Your cousin? Brother? "
I laughed.
" No, no of course not. He's my friend. Shino, meet Greg. He's coming back with us. "
I introduced Greg to him.
" What happened to your look? "
I asked him.
" Well, a lot happened recently... Roberto just..he just died.. "
Shino said.
We suddenly became silent.
" What- How the hell?! "
I asked him.
" It's my fault...I pushed Azul's cousin because he talked dirty about you..and I couldn't keep my cool. "
Shino explained.
" But how the hell did you end up here? "
Felix asked him.
" This is my punishment... "
He said silently.
" Don't worry Shino, I'm not mad at you. Don't worry, we'll avenge Roberto's death. "
I said and tapped his back.
" You're safe now. Don't worry. "
Felix said.
" I knew you're still alive...my faith is too strong that you guys aren't dead yet. "
Shino whispered.
A few hours later and the car suddenly stopped.
" What happened? "
Greg asked.
* Shit, the gas is empty. *
Then we saw a bunch of infecteds walking towards us.
" I can smell gas... "
Felix said.
* So do I..where is it coming from?! *
Greg pointed at Shino.
" What do you mean? "
Shino asked him.
" Look behind you, a small bag is attached to you. "
Greg said.
" Huh? I didn't even felt it.... How...? "
Shino said.
I grabbed his bag and opened it.
* Thank god...this is a blessing. *
I went outside and refilled it with gas.
" Shit! Runners! "
Felix shouted and I threw my bag inside and closed the door.
" GO! I'LL HIDE! YOU GUYS GO FORWARD! "
I shouted and ran back to the place where we went.
A few hours of walking.
* I'll be safe here...I suppose. *
I sat beside the road to rest.
Then a person in a motorcycle stopped in front of me and grabbed me.
" What the hell are you-?! "
I said but the person pulled me and handed me a helmet.
I equipped it and hopped in then the motorcycle started moving.
* Shit! This is too fast! *
I hugged the person so I won't fall and kept moving forward.
