Suddenly, I felt myself falling forward, and when I hit with a thud, I realized I didn't just fall in my dream; it also happened in real life. I landed in what felt like maybe, grass with a loud thump. It was actually kind of hurt. I started groaning.
"Stop being an infant, and get up. We're here." With the sound of the vehicle door closing and me realizing we were here, I snapped up. I spat out some dirt from my mouth and wiped the drool off my face. In a very nice pair of heels, I saw feet in front of me and looked up to see the most gorgeous women I have ever seen in my life.
She had this powerful aura pulsating off of her. She must be an essential person. Her face was covered with freckles and her eyes. Oh my god, her eyes were so captivating. They didn't look like any normal color and didn't even look like just one color, either. They looked like mini galaxies. She cleared her throat, and I snapped out of my trance. I clumsily got up and started dusting myself off. I turned around to look at my reflection in the vehicle we had arrived in, and I looked... Like. a. Complete. Train. Wreck. I hurriedly combed my fingers through my hair because it was sticking in every direction on the side I landed on, and there was grass stuck in it. Once I looked somewhat presentable, I turned around to face this being again.
I turned around and shyly made eye contact with her. I could feel her studying me intently, and I could feel my face start to heat up. I snapped my head down to the ground, and I heard her clear her throat. I looked back up, and she motioned for me to follow her.
Once I turned around to follow her, I realized my back was to what I could only describe as something like a palace. This place was huge. I snapped myself out of it and quickly caught back up to this woman; I still had no idea who she was. She led me through these huge double doors that opened up to this massive entryway with a chandelier and massive grand staircase leading up to the next level. From what it looked like, this place definitely had more than two levels. She led me down this long hallway to the right of the grand staircase, and we took a left at the T. We then kept going all the way down till we hit these huge double doors.
We entered into this beautiful ballroom looking place, but maybe even a throne room, because I saw a couple of thrones on the very left side of me. There were guards in here too. I looked at all the vast paintings, the gold trim, and what seemed to be huge skylights that gave a natural illumination to the room. Once the door clicked behind us, that's when I noticed Jasper and Zelda gasp and dropped to one knee. They started to bow their heads. The guards bowed briefly then went back to standing stiff as ever. I was completely confused as to what was going on. Then I finally heard the most pleasing voice to my ears speak. The voice was light yet commanding and accented. I honestly couldn't place the accent, but if I had to base it off of Earth, definitely something European.
"You may rise, you two. I always tell you, when it's just us, you don't have to be so formal. We've been best friends since we were very young and way before we all stopped aging." I raised my eyebrow to this. So they stopped aging. I seriously had so many questions, and the longer I'm here, the more the pile of questions I have tends to grow. The woman continued walking; She was a whole foot taller than me too. Can a short girl meet anyone her own damn size around here? Seriously, what do they put in the water?
She goes and sits down at the throne. It definitely makes sense; she definitely has a regal air about her. She lifted up her index finger and gestured me to come towards her. I hesitantly walked closer till I was right beside Zelda and Jasper. I gulped when she remained to stare me down.
"Call Gregor down, please." She motioned to one of the guards without breaking eye contact with me. I felt a shiver run down my spine. I couldn't look away. She finally broke eye contact with me to look behind us as this older-looking gentleman I assumed was Gregor. He walked past us and stood by the queen.
"This is her Gregor-" I immediately cut her off.
"Hell no. Nope. Nope. Sorry miss? Your Highness? I am not going to be this dude's mate." I looked at him with what I could only assume were wild eyes.
"I'm so sorry, but no. One, you look like you're at least 63, and that honestly disgusts me. Two, I am not into the male species what-so-ever. With that out of the way. I'll just take my leave." I turned around and started to leave. I didn't make it very far before I felt this breeze whip past me, and all of a sudden, I ran into a figure. I looked up to find their Queen of sorts staring down at me, and she looked fucking livid. Her eyes were glowing this multi-color; yes, they definitely resembled galaxies now.
"You are not going anywhere." I'm not going to lie; I was scared shitless. This gorgeous woman was seething, but I am sure as hell not getting mated off to this old fucker.
"Yes, I am. I am not being mated off to President Snow back there, and you're delusional if you think I am." I brushed my shoulder past her when she spun me around so quickly, and she had me on the ground with the heel of one of her high heels on my throat, pinning me to the ground.
Her eyes started to glow even brighter as if a huge star was exploding. "I said you are not going anywhere. Stop! Don't speak unless I have spoken to you. You have no manners. You didn't even let me finish speaking." She then looked to Gregor again.
"Gregor. This is her." She then turned back to me, and her stare penetrated straight into my soul. "My soulmate." Wait, I'm her soulmate, which means she's mine. She took her heel off my throat and walked out of the room we were in. I just played there. What the fuck just happened.
The majority of this book is done. So I'm going to try and post a chapter every day.
