This one shot takes place when the students go back for their 7th year. Also, LUPIN IS ALIVE!!!!!.... and the DADA teacher.
"Good morning class," Lupin greeted as he walked down from his office.
"Good morning Professor Lupin," The class chorused.
"Today we are going to be working with a new creature that was learned about in the war. It is quite similar to a boggart, but instead of showing your greatest fear it shows your worst memory They are called Memorizers," Lupin explained, "If it were up to me, this creature would not be brought here so early as all of you played some part in the war."
The few Slytherins who had returned (Draco, Blaise, Pansy, Theo, Astoria, Daphne, and Goyle) hung their heads and looked at their feet. They'd all been forced to fight on Voldemort's side.
"Unfortunately the ministry is requiring us to do this, therefore I have no choice. I will however, go first as j have tested how to defeat this beast. Harry," all heads turned to him, "I will ask you to step outside the classroom during my demonstration. I have desire for you to see your parents bodies."
Harry slowly nodded his head, tears pricking his eyes. Ginny pit an arm around him and gave him a reassuring hug.
"Also Harry, I must ask you what your worst memory is. There are certain things that I do not wish for this class to see." Lupin continued.
"F-Fifth year. Department of Mysteries. Sirius," Harry whispered.
"Alright. I'm sorry to hear that. If it is any help, that to is one of my worst memories."
Pansy raised her hand shakily, "Professor Lupin?" She asked.
"Yes, Pansy?"
"D-Did you know Pot- Harry's parents?" Pansy asked. All the Slytherins were going by first name basis to make up for what they had done.
"I was. James Potter, Sirius Black, and Myself were three of the four maruaders at Hogwarts. We got into quite the bit of trouble," Lupin said smiling.
"Who's the fourth?" Parvati Patil asked.
Harry answered before lupin could speak, "Peter Pettigrew," he said darkly, "He ended up killing himself for me. He would have died either way though. I'm just glad I didn't have more blood on my hands. Voldemort's is enough."
The entire class other than Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Lupin stared.
Hermione cleared her throat, "Pettrigrew was the man who told Voldemort the Potter's whereabouts. That's how he was able to kill Lily and James and attempt at Harry."
"Yes. Now back on topic," lupin said with a small smile at Hermione, "All you have to do is think of a happy memory, point your wand at the projected memory and say 'Evanish'. I shall show you now, Harry if you would step outside," Lupin said.
Harry nodded and left the room. Lupin then unlocked the trunk and a blue must hovered over it. The image projected to from a third person point of view. It showed lupin running into the potters destroyed house. He found James dead on the floor.
'James' memory lupin whispered before he heard a noise upstairs.
Pulling out his wand he ran up to find Snape clutching the body of Lily.
'Is she' memory lupin whispered.
Snape nodded, 'dead. All dead except for the boy. Hagrid will be here soon. I must leave. Please, lupin, send word of the service for Lily.'
'Always,' lupin said (sorry, couldn't help myself)
The memory then started to replay and the real lupin brandished his wand. Pointing at the mist he said, "Evanish."
The mist faded into the trunk again and lupin closed it.
"Will someone please get Harry?" Lupin asked, fighting back tears.
Theo went out to get him and returned less than a minute later with Harry.
"Was it bad?" Harry whispered.
"Harry, it wasn't in our control," Lupin said. Harry nodded.
"Now, as you noticed you must let the memory play completely through one time before casting the charm. Harry would you like to get this over with?"
"Please," Harry said.
He walked to the front of the room and stood still. Lupin opened the trunk and the memory played.
The memory then started to replay and harry quickly said "Evanish," thinking of Ginny. It ended again.
Harry then picked up his bag and walked out of the classroom. A large sob could be heard as be left.
"Ginny, please go help him," Lupin said. Ginny nodded and grabbed her bag before following.
"Alright, Hermione how about you?" Lupin asked.
Hermione nodded and walked to the front.
"Any idea what your memory would be?" Lupin asked.
"I do. Well its one of two. Either when I obliviated my parents, and the memory charm won't lift and there stuck not knowing they have a daughter, or..." Hermione trailed off subconsciously clutching her left arm.
"The Manor," Draco Malfoy supplied.
Hermione slowly nodded her head.
"The Manor?" Dean Thomas asked.
"Well we might find out. Wand at the ready," Lupin said before opening the trunk.
