Everything in the Douluo world has a certain sense of order and law. For example, one cannot become a proper soul master without a martial soul or soul power or without having their one soul ring. There was also common rules like fire can't burn on water, you can't fully revive the dead, the strong makes the rules and the weak follow, etc.
But one of the most well known fact, is that fire cannot bring forth life. For it is an aspect of destruction and death. It was an impossibility.
However, in the world of Douluo, the impossibility can be achieved.
Stoke the fire.
Xiu Ye raised his hammer up, tendrils of fire circled around his arm and converged to the hammer, and he strike down on the pink, almost red, heated piece of metal in front of him it released a shockwave of soul power and a hellish heat spread out. The temperature in the room skyrocketed to an insane level.
Hammer the metal.
Hammering heated metal seemed easy to many people but it wasn't. You needed great strength to pound the metal; and excellent control so you won't destroy it or ruin it, perfect eyesight and eye-coordination to ascertain the spots where to hammer the metal to get rid of the impurities.
For Xiu Ye, who's knowledge of blacksmithing was beyond that of the Douluo world, having imitated the skills of the making of the weapons in his inner world, this was as easy as cooking for him.
It's been a few months since he accepted to become Feng Wuyu's disciple and Xiu Ye had already been accustomed to his new schedule.
Waking up in the morning, have breakfast, go to the library to check if there was anything Yuanen Yehui needed help with, help out the inner and outer court kitchen to prepare the students' breakfast and lunch, and lastly after lunch, go to the academy's Blacksmith Association and listened to Feng Wuyu's lessons of blacksmithing: which ended within a couple of weeks, then cultivate from sundown to sunrise.
Xiu Ye is a genius, especially in blacksmithing. It wasn't that hard for him to digest everything that Feng Wuyu had about rank 6 blacksmiths' skills and below. If he wasn't held back by his cultivation, he would have already reached rank 7 and start upgrading his Two-word Battle Armor into a Three-word.
He was only continuing to forge in the association just for the sake of it. Although peace was good and all, it was also really boring. And sparring with the staff wasn't really all that good as well.
So he just came here to continue and polish his blacksmithing skills to its maximum limit.
Something that goes against against the natural order.
For when the fire around the metal surge up into a pillar red flames, Xiu Ye pounded the metal, the blood in his veins pumped, as a surge of life force channeled into the metal giving it life and intelligence!
The red hot metal shone a bright orange color and it began to tremble, no, beat like it was a heart than a piece of metal!
It was given life! Spirit Refinement!
Xiu Ye smiled and lowered his hammer, "Alright, I think I did my quota early for today. Hmm. What should I do? Should I just head to the cultivation room? Or I could continue refining metal and forging them into either Battle Armor parts or Mecha parts." The metal on the anvil started to beat several times.
Xiu Ye looked down on the living metal and with a wave of his hand, a wave of soul power gushing out, the metal transformed into a ritual dagger with a purple gem in the middle of its handguard.
This wasn't Alteration, but a ability to transmute or mould any metal he gained through his affinity with the metal attribute. Even when he isn't actively cultivating with any metal energy, his connection with the metal element is getting close to the point of comprehending the ultimate attribute of metal.
It wasn't really strange, after all, his whole body is steel and made out of swords and blood of iron.
If Xiu Ye didn't show any human emotions or have a close relationship with people, anyone would have thought that he was a machine.
He rubbed his chin, thinking what to do next, when a sudden idea struck him that made him smirk and he snapped his fingers.
"I got it! An Iron Man suit! I always wanted to try making one but I always seem to forget to do so. But since I got the time for myself, and a building that would provide me with resources..." A giddy smile appeared on his lips.
After all, it wasn't everyday you get to make an Iron Man suit. Or create a different branch of a Mecha suit most people in the Douluo world hadn't created yet, having gone for a knight suit of technologically advanced armor and zord mechas, and sell some of it to the highest bidder.
Capitalism at its finest.
'Most of my projects are finished anyway. Adding a production of iron man suits, now that sounds cool to do. Alright! When summer comes, I'll–!'
*Ringing*
"Hm?" Xiu Ye raised an eyebrow, turning to the corner of the forging room of where he left his shirt and other items that might get in the way of his forging, and heard his communicator ringing. "Someone's calling me? It can't be sister Yu Fei, she only ever calls me at night... so who is it?"
After laying his hammer to the side and storing the Spirit Refined Meteorite Iron, Xiu Ye went to pick up his soul communicator to see on the screen his grandmaster's name, the master of Wu Zhangkong, Zhuo Shi.
'Grandmaster? Why is he calling me? He doesn't really call any one of us except for Wulin, since his bloodline and physique is perfect for him to learn the gradmaster's secret techniques. Does he want help with his Battle Armor or something?' Since he was in the outer court his spiritual sense's range wouldn't be able to reach Zhuo Shi and read his mind.
Shrugging his shoulders, he accepted the call.
"Hello–"
"Xiu Ye! Why did it take so long for you to answer! Did that bastard Feng Wuyu try to throttle you again because he got jealous of your talent?" The loud, almost screeching, yell of Zhuo Shi's voice was heard through the
'As always, grandmaster can't stop worrying about his grand-disciples and badmouths teacher Feng. Though teacher deserves the cursing because he did try to strangle me.' Xiu Ye sweatdropped and nervously laughed. "Sorry, sorry. I just finished forging my metal is all. And don't worry grandmaster, teacher Feng is currently somewhere else important right now. He's having a meeting with the senior brothers and sisters in the Association."
'Though beating them is more like it.' Another drop of sweat went down the side of his face. After all, he heard Feng Wuyu muttering how the most members of his Blacksmith Association wasn't advancing a rank of their profession.
"So why did you call for me, grandmaster?" Xiu Ye asked as he went to grab his shirt, readjusting the soul communicator, he wore his shirt back on.
"Ah, right. So you know about how there's an exam for outer court students every end of the semester?"
"Yeah, what of it?" Xiu Ye raised an eyebrow, confused by the sudden question.
"Well, due to some confidential secret, that may or may not involve a bachelor party going wrong, alcohol, drugs, gambling, a missing baby, a tiger, a shotgun wedding and a run-in with the mafia... the outer court is a bit low on staff right now until further notice." The amused tone in his voice wasn't hidden.
Xiu Ye blinked his eyes.
"Huh?"
"Which is why," Zhuo Shi now sounded serious. "I was wondering if you wanted to help the outer court students with their semester exam."
"...Huh?!"
