Bab 652: Unexpected Threats

'Thank you, Little Ape. I'll be in your care.'

All lingering rigidness was swept out of Oli's body and soul. A sigh rolled out of his lips. "Oh… The feeling's mutual, Trada." 

"Was it successful?" 

Lord Uutrai's voice was just shy of a shout, in control but at the end of its leash. He marched up to the drake with his heart still in free fall. 

Nodding, Oli glanced at the dragon chief before closing his eyes. "Yeah. She's made it into the soul jade just fine… Can you hear me, Trada? … Or should I try telepathy?" 

When no response came, Oli's mind went still while scanning the fluctuations in his spiritual power.

It felt just as Lord Uutrai had expected. 

Oli's spiritual strength hadn't grown stronger. If anything, Oli could sense that a smidgeon of his soul energy was expended during that process. 

But there was a single difference.
