The night was quiet, almost unnaturally so. It was a false calm, the kind that settled just before chaos erupted again.
Dabi stood on the battlements, his eyes scanning the flickering glow of the Voidlord encampment in the distance.

Dabi and Loira exchanged alarmed glances. "Tampered? How?" Dabi asked.
"Follow me," Aldric said, his tone clipped.
As they descended the inner wall, Aldric explained. "A section of the barrier at the southern perimeter weakened abruptly.
