Sui wanted to be shocked by this news, but somewhere in her heart, she had already realised what was happening.

The medic looked surprised at the lack of shock Sui showed on her face.

"You did not look shocked when I told you that demon attacks were happening all over the empire. Do you know something about them?"

The medic looked instantly at alert, and Sui was quick to deny him this time.

"Of course not! I work in the imperial palace, and we hear about demon attacks occasionally. I just thought that the situation out there made sense if it is because of demon attacks."

Sui quickly cleared out her name, but the medic still looked suspicious of her.

This could get bad quickly, so Sui paid for the money she needed and promptly left the pharmacy.

The villagers were still not out and about, and staying in this village was more worthwhile.
