Bab 19: abomination

after entering the room cain looked around, it was mostly empty except for a straw mat and some training equipment but still large enough for him to do what he had to do. moving the straw mat to one of the corners so it didn't get in the way cain stood in the middle of the room 'you sure this is as good as it will get?' {yep} 'well ok then.'

after confirming that everything was ready to go, cain put his feat at shoulder width while slightly bending his knees making his hand into fists and putting them at his waist, the horseman stance. staying in the horseman stance cain began to breathe in a certain pattern that would maximize the amount of mana that he would absorb while spreading it throughout his whole body.

the first phase of cultivation is strengthening the bones so they can handle the stress the muscles will put on them in the later stages, while the first stage of meditation was to form a ring of mana around your heart. this would enhance the mage's ability to use and absorb mana.

cain, however, used his parallel mind to meditate while he would begin his own set of exercises. if an outsider were to look at cain they would see that his different forms looked like different animals and plants, this was the essence of primal growth, it used the fact that cain was the combination of hundreds of different beasts and fused their forms and cain's ability to cultivate/meditate like the martial arts of the old world but dozens of times more complex and complicated.

as time went on a vortex of mana began to form around cain. since he added the second mana vein cain's ability to absorb mana almost tripled as he could absorb much more without the worry of overloading his veins and damaging them. as the mana entered cain's body it would split off in too two different paths.

one would go along his bones and refine over time while the other coagulated around his heart forming his first mana ring. after about two hours cain stopped as going any further would ware out his mana veins. as soon as he stopped he laid down on the ground and began to add his own bloodline to his bloodstream while putting his natural healing into overdrive to brace for his bloodline awakening. as soon as one awoke it cause a cascade of awakening through out cains while body.

usually, when someone had two different bloodlines that awakened at the same time there would be a battle among them to see which one would stay leading to one being destroyed while the other one would be heavily weakened, this was why crossbreeds were so rare as they had both bloodlines after awakening. the mortality rate from double bloodline awakening, which was the process of one bloodline destroying the other during awakening. was terrifyingly high, and this was just with two weak bloodlines, for people with stronger bloodlines or more than one there was a 100% chance of death when they awakened unless all but one were removed or said person just didn't awaken.

this was why what cain was doing was pure madness as he had hundreds of bloodlines and many of them were relatively high-ranking ones. as time went on cain's body began to fall apart under the stress of all the bloodlines battling and being absorbed by his own bloodline. the pain caused by this was hundreds of times worse than both his transformations and soul-tempering combined. he couldn't even scream because his vocal cords would constantly shift between different shapes causing them to be completely destroyed. and things just got worse, bones melting and solidifying in odd and painful shapes, muscles tearing and reforming and melting with the bones only to be destroyed and begin again, skin pealing and rotting before healing only to rot and decay again.

nerves frying and reforming into masses of useless tissue only to be destroyed by the rampant changes around it, organs deforming and changing such as his stomach growing mouths only to eat itself and everything around it before changing once again, rampant cancer and tumours forming everywhere before being destroyed and eaten just to reform seconds later.

even his brain wasn't spared as it was destroyed, eaten, melted and even cooked driving him crazy, all the while he was still healing at the same speed as he was destroyed. you would think that his pain receptors and bring being destroyed would stop the pain, but no. they healed before fully being destroyed but never healing all the way causing him to be in the most pain any living creature could conceivably imagine. before adding more by creating more pin receptors for more pain. once his body ran out of stored bio-mass to regrow it began to rampantly drain the mana from the air to sustain itself causing his mana vein to burst and regrow before bursting again.

and this was just his body, as his soul was anchored to his body it also took damage, especially after the fusion of his mental power and mana.

meanwhile outside the principal was talking to Richerd and cain's teacher "it's been several hours, all the other students have already finished, and why is so much mana being pulled to cain's room?" looking over to cain's room rivers of mana where flowing around it, there was so much that at first, a mist began to form around it. when they saw this they were happy as this may help the other students, and It did, soon after the mist formed all the students handed up finishing and went back to their rooms. however, even after they had all left cain was still there. and soon after the mist grew denser and spread further out. not long after droplets of man began to form. do you know how much mana is needed to turn it from energy to liquid? and by now small puddles of mana had formed and even begun t turn into small crystals which had made the flow of mane even faster.

"How could he be doing this." seeing the mana begin to form a small stream and rocks that began to pull in yet even more mana the principal turned to Richerd and cain;s teacher to see if they knew anything. hearing the question richer looked over at the principal and began to speak "from the records that we salvaged from the lab, this happened when he first gains control over his own form. but it wasn't nearly this big." just as he said that a loud bang came from cain's room.
