"Felix…"
Felix sat on the edge of his bed, the memory of that day washing over him like the rain that had once soaked him to the bone.
Felix hadn't realized it at the time as a young kid, but Adella had saved his life. For him then she was just an angel who granted his wish but as he grew his perspective changed too.
Adella didn't just offer him food and shelter… she gave him a family, a purpose. For the first time in his miserable existence, someone had looked at him and considered he was worth saving.
It wasn't angels or gods that saved him. It was Adella's choice of bringing him GREED that saved him.
His prayers didn't save him. Adella's kindness saved him.
And now… she was gone.
He ran his fingers through his tangled hair, his heart aching in a way that no amount of anger could soothe.
