Bab 23: Chapter 22

It was absurd but I had felt like I had connected a little with the strange lady through her song. The wordings were a sort of insight to her story and it was almost as if I had known her for years. I strained my eyes but yet again, her face was well hidden behind the black mask and a riveting smile flooded my features as I accepted the challenge to discover what lay beneath those coverings.

The hall was quiet as all eyes were glued to the stage and after she had sung the last round of the chorus, belting the high notes at the end, her performance concluded with the rip-roaring applauds of the galvanized and over excited crowds.

Without a shadow of doubt, unless I was clearly mistaken, my eyes connected with her impassioned ones that were overflowing with tears and it made me wonder if it was merely out of overwhelming joy or could there be something else?

When she disappeared backstage, I didn't waste any time following her trail to complete my quest.
