He sat upright in reflex, only to slump back again when a wave of vertigo crashed over him. Clutching his head, he stubbornly pushed through the discomfort to demand answers from Song Zhuyu. "Y–You are cursed… like me? Really? You aren't lying just to humor me, aren't you?" his tone was full of skepticism, it was apparent that he found it hard to believe in the crimson-haired man's words.

"Tsk," Song Zhuyu clicked his tongue disapprovingly. "Why would I deceive you? Nothing good ever comes out of lies, and I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to lie unless absolutely necessary. That, I can assure you. And it's not like I have anything to gain from lying. If, as you mentioned earlier, your curse haunts me too, then am I not the one at the greatest risk here?"
