Bab 143: Not Working

Mi'er's translucent figure began to blur like a flickering candle on the verge of dying out. A choked sound escaped her lips as she doubled over, her tiny frame trembling. Almost as if thick invisible chains were wrapping around her body, preventing her from moving or speaking further. 

Damn it! Cursing under his breath, Song Zhuyu rushed toward her, but he had just taken two steps when a sharp gust of wind swept through the forest, causing the leaves to dance wildly and forcing him to shield his eyes with an arm. 

In the last moment, her feeble voice drifted along with the wind to reach his ears, sounding so faint and soft that it could barely rival the wind's howl.
