Bab 41: Corrupted Fetus

The village chief's house turned out to be almost on the other side of the island where they needed to trek for more than an hour. Fortunately, there was a shortcut path leading directly to the clinic, so that Rui Shuren could come within the shortest possible time during emergencies. 

This was the first time Song Zhuyu had traveled to this part of the island, and it made him realize all over again that there were still so many things he didn't know about Shenci.

The sky appeared unusually overcast today with dark clouds swirling with the threat of imminent rain, increasing the humidity in the air. However, this weather worked fine in Song Zhuyu's favor since nobody questioned him when he came out wearing a turtleneck sweater. 

Chen Ru, having received an assignment from Song Zhuyu the night before, kept a somber and serious demeanor as though ready to document every detail he saw along the way.
