In the end he decided that it wasn't worth it and ignored the legiana to continue looking for a member of the subspecies. Flying west ward from that hotspring area Alex arrived at the usual nesting area of the species in the game that was a enclosed circular stone area with jagged mountainous walls on all sides a two paths into or out of the area. He checked for signs of nesting and while he found some he couldn't tell if they belonged to the normal legiana or the subspecies due to their nearly identical tracks.-
Since this was the case he moved on to continue his search for the subspecies as usually neither type of legiana liked to go far from their nest to hunt. He got lucky this time and found his target also flying through the air. Besides being a bit bigger than a normal legiana the shrieking subspecies was also not tan and blue but rather chalk white and steel grey. Alex sped up the moment he spotted the subspecies quickly closing the distance between them. He also didn't even bother trying to fly quietly so the legiana noticed him very fast.-
It was almost funny to see how the confident predator suddenly turned panicky and fearful to the point of immediately dropping altitude to avoid Alex. Obviously Alex wasn't just going to let the thing escape and shot forward in a sudden burst of speed as he made it quite clear that he was hunting it. The legiana dived towards the hard stone below to try and shake Alex off but he was perfectly aerodynamic and as a result was only getting closer and closer. In a desperate move the legiana attempted to pull a fast one and suddenly pull up to trick Alex into shooting past it.-
Alex had long taken such an action into consideration so the moment the legiana pulled it he struck out with his tail covered in paralytic poison. A terrible gash opened along the legiana's back causing it to scream in pain before it's muscles locked up from the poison and it truly began to fall out of the sky. The monster tumbled over itself as it helplessly fell from the sky and with a resounding "CRACK!" hit the hard stone below. It should come as no surprise that this impact hurt the legiana considerably but as a master rank monster it was durable if nothing else and thus was still able to fight.-
Or that would have been the case if Alex hadn't ruthlessly dropped onto it's head with a thunder covered claw crushing it's skull and frying it's brain at the same time. Alex found it funny how his go to move for a quick kill was basically an elementally and gravity fed curb stomp. Removing his claw from the gorey mess Alex grabbed the still warm corpse and took off into the air again. No one was surprised when he came back with the body as they were all used to it by now.-
Funnily enough the hunters had also started to adopt Alex's overhead ambush tactic themselves to great effect. Even if they couldn't instantly kill a monster like Alex using this method they were definitely capable of grievously wounding them. Thanks to the fact that they made sure not to drop from too high they never went fast enough to hurt themselves from the fall even if they missed. Still the hunters quickly dismantled the corpse and sent Alex on his way with the meat that he was waiting for.-
The grandma cook took her time testing and cooking the meat in a way that satisfied her before serving it to Alex as a giant bowl of spicy taco salad. The seasonings made the meat nice and spicy but the dense ice energy in the meat also gave it a numbing taste as well. Still he quickly checked his notifications from the system only to be disappointed that he had merely received the same traits he had from a normal legiana. After that he returned to his building and started to experiment with his fire once again.
