Bab 215: Fleeting beauty of love

Inside one of the rooms in the castle, Herschel sat close to Layla's bed with his hand on the girl's forehead.

"How is she?" Chaos asked, tiptoeing to see if the girl was fine after everything that happened earlier.

Herschel raised his eyes. "I'm sure Kael must have wiped that memory. Her body is warm; all she needs now is rest." He shifted his attention to Iva, who was standing by the door, fuming.

"That's good news," Chaos clapped his hands excitedly, trying to uplift everyone's spirits, especially Iva. The girl had sworn to go after the demoness if anything happened to Layla. She didn't care if it was Jacquelyn's face or not.

Seeing that Iva was still silent, Chaos continued, "I know Layla will be fine. She's a strong girl...even stronger than we could imagine. It's okay for—"
