"You hurt my trust by hurting her, yes no doubt in that, but I do not love her do not assume things, I had only loved one woman in my life and she will remain the only one, no one can take her place." 

Ever since Emma died, loving and accepting another woman had become impossible for Paul. It has been some time since she died in his hands, but with time his heart had erected a wall around itself, not letting anyone enter, it was as if it had become scared of love.
