Bab 43: Entering Kuoh Academy 2
Danger!
Now of all times. Did my presence really change the world so much?
Sensing faster than my devil constitution. The detection stemming from the cursed gear, Mask of Deception, pin pointed the location of the the enemy.
Shifting my head to that very place, I find a magic circle being formed. Right behind it, a delicate index finger pointed at me. Staring further back, I can make out a slender and smooth hand, arm and the body of a curvy bombshell. Dressed in a wavey green sundress, I can say for sure that girl is a girl.
"But you picked the wrong person to play tricks on." I commented.
I shifted an arm and pointed at her, using my body as a means to conceal my actions. Even with 'Concealment' and 'Camouflage' you can't be too careful.
Hiding my actions from her and from any other witness, I counter cast a spell.
WATER SERPENT!
I do my best to invoke as little mana as I can. Instead of bringing out a giant snake of water I opt for a more subtle approach.
Psst!
Almost instantly, a squirt shot out from my location. Moving a lot more faster than I expected, the water thread landed flat on the chest of the sundress.
I doubt the girl could retaliate yet alone dodge. The girl in question was pushed back against a light pole.
"Ow!" She cried, not from pain but surprise.
My plan to disrupt her casting was successful. I was too focused on spell casting that I didn't get the chance to see what she looked like. A sun hat fell to the ground, it was obvious that she was wearing it.
The victim of my attack appeared flabbergasted, it was clear that she didn't expect a counter attack and one so quickly. But when I met her gaze, I was equally astonished.
"That girl, I know her!"
I do know her indeed!
"Isn't that Sona's other bishop. Kusaka... no Reya Kusaka. That's it!" I muttered.
Seeing the girl, it made me confused. She wasn't wearing the Kuoh Academy's school uniform. She was casually dressed, actually, her style is very attractive.
I couldn't do much to think about it, I was still on the verge of escaping Murayama and Katase. My apologetic smile was the only thing I could leave for Reya.
Returning my attention back to the sidewalk, I try to catch up to Matsuda at the distance.
When I make it to the corner that turned to the school road, suddenly, a magic circle appeared. It wasn't an attack. In fact the magic circle appearing beside my ear was a communication spell.
"Hello..."
What a sweet voice to hear. I immediately reply back, "Hello?"
"Please wait, don't go!"
"Huh!"
The one on the other end of the line was none other than Reya Kusaka. She wanted me to wait, for what?
Reya said. "Please don't go, I want to talk to you."
I felt like I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Should I escape the kendo girls or check out Reya.
Briefly thinking about it. I decided to stop running and head over to the spellcaster. With the Mask of Deception at my use, I shouldn't have any trouble playing dumb to the recent events.
"Why'd you stop?" Issei asked, who followed behind.
I indicated, "Something came up, don't worry. I can't get caught."
Motohama called out after catching up, "Sesa!"
"Don't worry, Ses' will be fine. No one knows him after all." Issei cut in, he was well aware of my prowess.
Turning back, I walked the way I came. I thought the kendo girls world be hot on our tails, they were still at a distance. The girls took their time, leisurely walking.
Since that was the case, I ignored them and crossed the road. A thought came to mind while I reached the opposite pavement. 'Would I get a fine for J-walking?'
Stupid question, right? Even if that was the case I'd never get caught.
Proceeding onwards, I see Reya Kusaka heading my direction as well. In her hands she held the sun hat, which in turn covered her breast area. It looks like my 'Water Serpent' made her wet in that place.
Shortly after we finally meet. I'd be mad if I ignored the curves of the girl. Her attractiveness was a lot more alluring close up.
"Thank you for meeting me." She gave a bow. "My name is Reya Kusaka. May I have your name?"
Wow! Surprisingly, I was taken in by her politeness. Standing there next to her, I watch her straighten up. I guess this is where I reply.
"I'm Sesa Purusa."
She smiled, "Sesa."
"Is there something you need?"
"Are you... You're a devil, aren't you?" Reya asked, her eyes seemed to be piercing me.
Taking in her gaze, I wondered if this is how 'Penetrate' felt for others. I replied, "Something like that."
All of a sudden, she extended both hands. While dropping the headwear, she grabbed my hand and brought it to her chest.
I was taken aback by the sudden movement. A cold damp feeling enveloped the back of my hand.
Reya's actions made me shy.
This was different. Had it been Ruruko or Chaos, heck, had it been Sona. I definitely wouldn't be embarrassed by this kind of situation. But Reya Kusaka, I know about her, merely, she's still a stranger at this time.
With my familiarity, I'd have no problem making advances towards the girls. With Reya, we just met, which caused me to feel embarrassed.
Just maybe it's because we're in the public's view.
"Please... I need your help. I'm willing, I'm willing to pledge myself to you!" Reya pleaded. The girl's eyes began to water, her distraught expression told me she had been holding back those tears for some time.
What could be so bad that her heart strings are getting pulled? I sure don't know.
Coming to think of it, I was never the one to be met in the first place. Reya was meant to meet Sona Sitri.
"My grandma said if anything were to happen to her I could find help from the devil faction, as our magic power is related to demonic power."
I guessed right, it looks like she was definitely meant to meet the Sitri heiress but she met me instead.
Something did bug me though, why did she target me?
"Didn't you just try attacking me?" I blurted, ahh... I wasn't going to say that out loud.
Reya increased the grip on my hand, she took a deep breath in. I believe she was calming herself then the girl replied, "I'm sorry... I saw what happened to those girls and thought... of helping them."
"Oh!"
"Please don't take offense, I wasn't meaning to cause you harm." She said.
"It's fine, I'll take you up on that pledge. Let's meet with one of the top ranked devil clans. The house of Sitri."
"Ah, my grandma spoke about them before."
"Sure, lets go. You can leave my hand too."
"Ah!" Reya exclaimed, she suddenly realized that she was a girl holding a boy's hand. A feint blush smeared her cheeks, quickly, she left my hand.
Soon we both started our march towards the Academy. Had I been alone, I'd probably would've reach the school quicker. Having Reya at my side on the other hand had its own benefit.
She was a beautiful girl after all, naturally she garnered the attention of other students heading to the school.
The students mainly consisted of girls and naturally, like girls, they began to gossip.
"Hey! Who's that girl?"
"She looks to be our age. Is she going to transfer to our school?"
"Wait there's a guy right next to her, he's wearing our school's uniform."
"Wow! He doesn't look that bad." One girl said.
Another girl spoke, "I think Kiba-kun is cuter."
What the fudge!? Why'd they involve me with that holy sword maniac. It's fine if they are used to him in the school but don't involve me.
I heard another girl's words, "Do you think they're siblings?"
Huh! Reya and I siblings, bullshit. Hearing myself being compared to Yuuta Kiba and not thought of as better made my mood twist the wrong way. Now saying Sona's soon to be bishop is my sibling. I can't accept that.
I did not hesitate, my arm stretched out and around Reya's waist area. I had my hand land on the girl's hip, a little lower in fact.
Reya Kusaka, who held her sun hat over her chest didn't show any reaction. She remained composed, as if she accepted her fate. I can believe that she was absolutely serious when she said she'll pledge herself to me.
This is the first day of school. My first experience of Kuoh Academy. The journey here started great, it got to be fun. Now I got a a gorgeous woman in my arm.
This is how I entered Kuoh Academy!
