After midnight...

The entire A-City was already in deep slumber when Tao Niannian arrived at the Tao residence on foot.

She was out with her grandfather so she didn't bring her wallet.

Her phone was also left in the car when her grandfather kicked her out.

She was penniless therefore could only walk home.

Her eyes were swollen from crying. She walked up and knocked on the door.

The door creaked open from the inside.

The family bodyguard stuck his head out. "Miss, why are you home so late?"

"Where's my grandfather?"

"The old master is already asleep."

"Oh." Tao Niannian was disappointed.

"Miss, let me help you in first." The bodyguard said considerately when he saw her limping.

"No need, I'm going to walk back by myself."
