Bab 14: The Brave Usopp.
"What about the captain?. He's taking too long." One of the children grumbles.
"Yeah, so is Luffy." Zoro is restless, I can see that, even if he doesn't show it.
While we waited for Luffy and Ussop, I was thinking of a method to face the Black Cat pirates, I only have a record of Kuro and Jango, even though they are not so complex, it is still better than having none. Jango's is mostly useful.
I hear one of the children screaming, changing my vision for them, I see Usopp running towards us. Nami tries to call him, but Usopp ignored her and kept running in some direction.
The children were talking in a corner, so I approached Zoro and Nami.
"Luffy was not with him." I tell Zoro, I wasn't feeling worried, I know who Luffy is.
"He's fine ... But let's look for him." Zoro approaches the children.
"It's good to find him soon, you'll know what he did." Nami looked concerned, I know she cares about us even though she doesn't show it.
The children then took us where Usopp always goes when he is upset. Nami managed to find Luffy lying on the cliff, the children seeing Luffy's body, shuddered and thought he was dead. But I soon heard the snoring sound, so I knew that Luffy was fine, Zoro seemed to have heard it too, because he poked Luffy's ass to wake him up. Luffy being a Rubber Man, he doesn't get hurt in a fall.
As soon as we exchange words, and climb the cliff again, Luffy begins to tell us what had happened. Even if I prepare myself, whether mentally or in tactics, I still feel that it is not enough.
Halfway down the road, we met Usopp, who, speaking to the children, said that the pirates were his lie. After looking at the children, I could see that they were very upset with him, no ... They were unhappy with Usopp. I can understand, in their view Ussop lied for honor, but this time for them, Usopp lied for revenge.
Of course, we believed in Luffy, even though Usopp begged him saying it was a lie, we wouldn't believe it until Luffy said it was a lie. As the children walked away, I couldn't help but see Usopp's sad face. For every action there is a consequence, because he lies so much, people stopped believing his words. But that's why Luffy accepted him, even though nobody believed him, Usopp is willing to stand up to protect them, that's why he has my respect.
We left the place and went to the sea, where Nami used a medical kit to clean and stop the wound on Usopp's arm. It was now dark, the Black Cat pirates had a few hours to attack.
"Tell me, why did you do that?" I see Luffy ask Usopp. I pay attention to your conversation, even though my focus is elsewhere (Secret).
"It is because I am a liar." Usopp looked lonely. I remembered my previous life, when I was abandoned by my friends.
"No one will ever believe me again. I was naive to find ..." I agree that it was naive, on both sides.
"It doesn't matter if you were naive. The truth is always the truth." It seemed that Zoro agreed with my thoughts.
"Naivety comes from both sides, be it yours or the people of the village. They have lived with you for 17 years ... They should be able to differentiate between what is and what is not the truth." That was the least they should have done out of respect for Usopp's mother.

"Pirates are really going to attack the village, aren't they?." Nami asks, she looked kind of discouraged .... I think everyone is.
"Yeah ... You bet they will ... But everyone in the village thinks it's a lie ... They think that tomorrow will be a normal day just like everyone else." Usopp was angry, he could feel it ...
"So I will stay on the beach and face the pirates alone. And everything will remain a lie !. If I am a liar, then I will turn everything into a lie!. This is the village where I grew up and I love this place ... I want to protect everyone here ... "Usopp cried, could understand his feelings, protect those he loves ... This village is the treasure of Usopp, and he will do what is necessary to defend you.
I couldn't help a smile appearing on my face ..... And people still call Usopp a coward ... They really don't understand anything ... Cowardice always exists in a person, but courage is prevalent, even if it is different from person to person. Usopp is brave, he has his fears, but he still faces them head on when necessary ... This is not cowardice ... but courage.
"I didn't think so. He dismissed the bribes and faced it all." Zoro realized ... No ... Everyone here realized this.
"Hehe, I really wanted to beat that butler up. He displeased me when I found him." My smile stretched across my face.
"Stay clear. The pirates' treasures are all left to me." Nami would never refuse the opportunity to get some treasure, this must be reflected in the hand that makes a symbol similar to Berry.
"Oushi. We'll give you a hand." Luffy is willing to do this for those he thinks are worthy.
"Are you going to ..... Really fight with me? But why?." Usopp was still crying.
"How why? Because they are many, isn't it obvious?." Luffy he doesn't read your mind.
"If you're scared, it leaks and doesn't get in the way." Zoro .... Sometimes you can be as dumb as Luffy ....
"Zoro was all that talk for nothing?." Ahaa ... I think I really should be part of this crew, I must be destined for that ....
"That's right, I'm not scared ... No matter how many, I'm going to stay and fight! Do you know why?. Because I'm the brave and fearless sea wolf, Captain Usopp! ...." Usopp's leg didn't stop to shake. He knew that, so he hit his thighs to try to make them stop.
"This is no joke! Our enemies are pirates of the Klahador, of course I'm scared !. I'm getting all pissed off !. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me !. Get out of here!." Usopp was trembling more and more, but he refuses to be seen as a coward or fearful.
"No one here is mocking you. Listen, we will help you, because you are brave." I knew that you understood my thoughts Zoro.
"Being afraid is not a cause for shame, it would be shameful if you had run off alone and left the village. But you refused, no matter how much they didn't believe you. How could we make fun of someone like you?" As someone who is afraid, I understand Usopp's anxiety, I'm just keeping calm because of my Akuma no Mi.
"I don't risk my life just out of pity." That got me .... But it's true, Luffy never risked his life, or that of the crew out of pity, there was always some event that pulled him to meet someone, and then that person gains his recognition ... So he saves them , not out of pity.
What we said seemed to impact Usopp, as the tears that had stopped started to fall again.
"Wow .... Are you ...." Was that the end of an episode in the anime? .... It must have been .... Damn, that was impactful ....

Tennouji_Kotarou Hello guys, author here. I have a few things to say.
First. Today's chapters may take longer than usual.
Second. I would not extend this part so much as to make a chapter, since I practically copied the original in the last chapter, but I decided to try to implement the feedbacks that TOFIE commented. I feel that the chapter has become softer, I like to see the TOFIE review to see if it has improved, or is still bad.
