Bab 63: The Shadow Looms III
The shadow monster attacking manifested in the form of a large beast with four appendages. It first took note of Ji-Ho as her attack with her aura damaged the shadow beast. The shadow appendages all came crashing down towards Ji-Ho, but she magnificently dodged each with her amazing reflexes.
Jihan and Hanbin are also caught up with something as they are in combat with human sized shadow soldiers that spawned near them. Ji-Ho also made use of the attention she is getting from the large shadow monster in order to dissipate the weaker shadow soldiers. If normal physical attacks do not work, then attacks from their own kind perfectly works for them.
The three of them are currently facing the endless deluge of enemies but the spawn rates of each seem to be slowing down with each shadow soldier they kill. Meanwhile, Adrian has completely erased his presence by making sure that his aura is not detected. He could even fool a person that has clear vision as they will just see him as an afterthought or shadow.
He navigated through the shadows by reading the lines of how it flows. The shadows in his surroundings are like flowing water and has a specific movement. He just needed to find the gaps in the flow in order to be completely undetected. It took a total of ten minutes for Adrian to reach the source of the anomaly.
Adrian could see that Seo-yeon is sleeping with her face twitching as if she is in pain. He could see that the girl is currently in a state of perpetual nightmare. When he examined the Seo-yeon's forehead a strange marking is seen imprinted on it. This is the same markings that the spydroid found in the teacher's apartment.
"As expected, he is a shaman." Adrian muttered as he remembered what Whiz told him before they entered the school today.

"Adam Smith is a retired special operations officer from the United States of America which is probably not his real name as well. Retirement is due to the fact that he is the only one that survived an operation in an undisclosed location in Africa. The report said that the death of all his team members has greatly scarred the man that he went into therapy for five years.
It is only after the therapy sessions that he became a normal working person once more. Since he did not like to be bound by his country once more, he applied to be an English teacher in schools across the world. He travelled all over for another five years. He only settled in South Korea when the general in the US army base there recommended him to this current academy." Whiz stated.
"Do you have an idea on what type of military operation did he participate in?" Jihan asked.
"The details of the reports have been burned and even the trash bin servers are almost wiped out. There is a clue in the report that I managed to salvage. It seems that they came and rescued a volunteer. The volunteer is none other than Jane Doors. She is the daughter of one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the US. Her father is high up in the military while her mother owns a multi-billion-dollar clothing empire." Whiz reported.
"Everything should have been good, but she was under house arrest for three years." Adrian stated as he read the report.
"That is the odd thing as she was under house arrest for three years due to a mind complication. Rumors say that it is due to the traumatic experience, but the housemaids said something different. Apparently, the young miss lost her mind because she was experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations.
At first, they thought that it is a coping mechanism, but they sent an exorcist later. The exorcist could not solve the problem completely, but she calmed down after the encounter with him." Whiz stated as he gave the important bits of the report.
"Exorcist? So, she was possessed by an evil spirit? Is it possible for shamans to do that?" Jihan asked.
"It is but shamans do not control evil spirits or rather they think that they can control them. Evil spirits follow no one but shamans or ay other being that can communicate with the spiritual realm can call upon them. It is like being a beacon to them, but they will never submit to you." Adrian stated.
"That still does not explain why Mr. Smith is a shaman." Whiz stated.
"What if it was not the original Mr. Smith that came out with the young girl, but another soul already attached itself to the body? It would take years to be able to get accustomed to the body of another. In other words, assume that Mr. Smith is not who he says he is.
From the reports, Seo-yeon seems to be quite close to Mr. Smith as he is the club advisor of the literature club. It seems that there are rumors that she has his favor which is why some female students bully her." Jihan stated.

Adrian managed to touch the sleeping Seo-yeon's face and immediately activated his ability. She is currently trapped in an endless nightmare which means he needs to wake her up. He did not want a repeat of the great catastrophe that plagued Europe in the dark ages. He must save this enigma or else her powers might engulf the whole of South Korea.
If her powers engulf the whole of South Korea, then it would become a world of perpetual darkness with shadow monster spawning and killing people. The extremely sentient shadow monsters will inhabit the dead bodies of the killed humans in order to establish a foot in the mortal plane.
"Let us see how you ended up like this little one." Adrian stated as his tone became calm and comforting with his eyes glowing a deep green. The shadow soldiers noticed that the source is currently being attacked which is why they now changed their target to Adrian.
