Ricky fell silent. If they met again, who knew whether he might become mad with jealousy?

Ricky still nodded with a smile, his gentle and clean face showing no trace of resentment, only acceptance.

He left the exhibition hall, into the bleak, snowy night. The man sat in his wheelchair, looking up at the falling snowflakes.
