Normally, one couldn't upgrade their bloodline without facing the tribulation, but Val had used a very rare item, making the upgrade possible. However, this didn't mean he had found a way to legitimize his power. He still needed to gain the acceptance of the will of the White Devil residing in his bloodline by passing the tribulation.
