Flech was a regular human royal guard with a love for women and an obsession for good booze.

He had slightly above average looks and was a regular customer at all the brothels in his area, had a high tolerance for alcohol, an amber core mage, he was plenty pleased with life.

The human guard was regularly sent on border missions as he had quite the splendid eyesight.

He'd heard rumors about his superiors planning on turning him into a border patrol officer and he detested it. Imagine being away from all the fine women for only God knows how long! He would rather quit his job than do that.

On this particular day, Flech was patrolling the edges of the continent from one checkpoint to another.

He casually greeted another soilder that walked him by and he resumed his work... which mostly happened in his mind.
