As soon as I tasted that wine I knew something was wrong. It tasted off. And as my knees gave out and I fell to the ground, I knew death was coming. Moments after I fell, Sorrel fell beside me. We had not died yet, so clearly whoever was behind this did not intend to kill us...yet. Around us the sounds of fighting rose up, and I saw my guards getting cut down one after another. Fear crashed down on me. My people were dying and we could be next. Sorrel could be next.I did my best to turn towards my wife, who looked so beautiful today. I could not let her die.
