The far end of the shipping docks was empty when Drew arrived at the abandoned warehouse to meet Adam. It was almost midnight when he arrived, and he could see a car parked inside that he didn't recognize. The dark and musty building creaked as the ocean breeze blew through the rafters.
From the darkness, a voice said, "Close the doors."
Pulling the docking doors closed, he looked back over his shoulder. "Adam? Is that you?"
"Yes, it's me, dumbass. Who the hell do you think it would be?"
Stepping into the light, that was shown from the window by a street lamp, Adam looked as if he hadn't slept in days.
"Adam, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Where is she?"
"She's at Hunters. I can't even get close to her right now."
"The hell you won't," Adam said as he grabbed Drew's collar. "Bring her to me."
"How? I'm not even staying at Greg's place now. He kicked me out. I've been sleeping in my car."
