In the dim light, Charlie gazes at the fallen Angelica on the bed, overwhelmed by guilt and self-loathing, retreating with heavy breaths.
"Sorry... I didn't mean to hurt you," he whispers vulnerably.
Angelica slowly sits, looking at Charlie in astonishment.
"I just... I just didn't want to lose you," Charlie says again.
"But why bring me here?" Angelica asks tearfully, puzzled by Charlie's actions. "You know my mom was worried sick. She called me multiple times before you came, and now I have to talk to her. I just want to assure her I'm okay!"
Charlie hesitates, considering Angelica's plea, but Louis's threat clouds his mind.
"No, you can't talk to her!" he asserts firmly.
