Bab 4: Get Some Resources

A block of dirt was dug up from the dirt hut. Rick peeked through that little hole he made and inspected the surroundings. In his eyes he sees the zombies being burn into dust. He was in a relieve. It was a good thing that there were no zombies with a helmet on, if not the zombie would be able to withstand the sunlight that would burn them into ashes and harm the four that have been staying in the dirt hut for the entire night.

"Looks like the coast is clear," he exclaimed.

He dug up another block of dirt under the hole he made earlier to create an opened door to get out and get in of the dirt hut. He got out of the cramped dirt hut and breathed the fresh air into his lungs. Then came out the newbie, following him from behind. Riley looked at his surroundings and learnt that the zombies would be burn in the sunlight; just like the principle of some movies he watched that had zombies in it.

"Good thing the zombies gets burnt in the morning, if not we would be staying in that cramped space for our entire lives. Unless somebody wants to know what happens when they die in this... game," Riley spits out his worries.

"Welp, no time to waste now. We should be making a better place to stay before the sun goes down again," Rick explained.

A shrieking sound suddenly hit their ear drums. Oh, it's their stomach. And that was a sign that they were hungry. Looks like they'll have to find some food in the meantime, before they starve to death.

"Hey Sydney! Can you give us some equipment for us to go into the woods? Oh, and we're going to be hunting some animals while we're at it," asked Rick as he approaches Sydney in the dirt hut. Sydney was at the crafting table she made; the one that she quickly crafted and used to craft the two wooden swords she gave the boys last night. It was a clever move of her to do so, otherwise they would be easily cornered by the zombies. They don't want to be a feast for the monsters to dig in.

"Wait a minute, I'm gonna craft for you and Riley some slightly better equipment using cobblestones and maybe I could get you an iron sword. I'm gonna use the irons I found earlier to make a sword. You know, safety first," she explained thoroughly.

Rick nodded and went out to give the newbie some knowledge that the boy would need to keep up with this game. It would be a good time to teach him a few things about this game while waiting for Sydney to finish making them some gears.

Sydney was at the crafting table, cranking up some gears with the cobblestones she have while waiting for the iron ingots to be ready. Without her noticing came a speech from behind, "Here, I've finished smelting the iron ores" he said as he gives the iron ingots to Sydney.

"Oh, thank you... um," she stopped as she doesn't have a name to address him.

"That guy who won't give tell his name," he helped her.

"You know, it's not nice to keep us hanging like that."

"I don't have a reason to tell you my name."

"We need to know each other. We can't just be like strangers when we're in a situation like this. We need to work together to get out of this. And I mean, I'm just asking a name."

"You'll have to do better to squeeze out my personal information. Because this boi ain't falling for sad little girly talky." And he left her in the dirt hut with her questions unanswered. Her breath escaped her mouth with disappointments.

At last, after doing this and that, Sydney finally finished her work. She went outside with all the gears in her hands and approached the two talking figure. It was Rick and Riley talking to each other. The other one was standing on the flat land, gazing the world he had fall into.

"So not all mobs will get burn by the sunlight. Some of them are creepers and spiders. They are resilient and are not harmed in the daylight. For some reasons, spiders will be a happy big insect and will not hurt you in the daytime, unless you went to punch them then they will be all moody and jump on your face."

"Hey there! How's the education going?" she surprised them as she throws all the good stuffs that she made in the hut.

Startled with the girl's sudden appearance, he regained his breath and answered, "Yeah, he's learning fast. Unless if you want to interrupt, that's gonna be a problem."

"Aww, come on. I was just teasing you. We can't have a frown if we want to get out of this prison, right?"

Rick and Riley leaned down and took everything that she threw and put it in their inventory. Now they're all geared up and ready to go. "Okay! We'll be going now," said Rick.

"Um, is he going too?" asked Riley. Everyone turned their heads to see the boy standing in the broad daylight, still astonishing himself with the fact that he is inside a game, once more.

"You know, how about you two go. I'll stay with him," Sydney whispered to them.

"Whatever you say, young lady," said Rick as he dragged Riley into the woods with him. "Come on now. We need to get going."

The three waved to each other as their image fade away from their eyesight. Sydney turned around and looked at him for one more time. In her head she thought to herself, 'why is he being so secretive?'

Sydney walks herself near him. The boy noticed but kept quiet. He let her stand beside him. She started her speech in the empty atmosphere. "Hey! For your information, I won't be stopping until I get your name."

"I know, and for your information, that irritates me a lot," he said as he looked at this world with dead eyes.

"So will you tell me?" asked her while looking at him.

"What if I say no?"

"I'll ask again and again, until you give up," she said while grinning, showing her cherry red cheeks.

The boy paused for a second. He got a glimpse of the sweet smile the girl gave him. His eyes widened as the girl's glistered eyes caught his gaze, her waving hair that falls down her shoulder captured his surprised heart and her sincerity towards him colored his face all red. He never saw that kind of expression from anyone else before in his life. Even though it's in a game, It was a moment that made him want to treasure for his entire life. A sweet candy that he will never be able to taste again in his bitter coated... life; his real life.

"Hey! You hear me?" asked the girl. Her face was close to his, until what he sees is only her sweet sincere face.

The boy's thought disappeared and his image was only the girl's face. It made him startle, "Ah, I mean." The boy coughed heavenly before he repeats his sentence. The girl stepped back from him, giving him a little space. "Like I said, I won't tell you," he said in a deep tone voice.

And again, the boy left the girl hanging with her questions still unanswered. As he walked further from her, he noticed a rather strange feeling behind him. He turned his head to see her with watery eyeballs and sparkling stars in her eyes, crying without a sound.

'Oh nononononono!'

Sydney came closer to him while maintaining her pitiful eyes.

'Nope! Not looking.'

But she kept following him so that he could see her and her pitiful eyes.
