'Finally another one!' With the last monster in the area vanquished, the scene was a mess, with corpses strewn about, all crushed into a pulp under my fist. Some were even frozen in large blocks of ice from when I had used frost breath, but that seemed unimportant at the moment. As I surveyed the aftermath, I noticed a note in my system that I had previously ignored.
'Reward huh, I accept' A notification appeared in my vision, but before I could read it, a strange sensation swept over my body, as if I were being gently caressed. Black sections of my skeleton began to expand, slowly at first, but soon growing at a rapid rate to cover my entire body, transforming my once pristine white skeleton into obsidian black. However, the changes didn't end there. I felt myself growing taller, pushing my height to a whopping 7 feet. Thankfully, the transformations eventually ceased allowing me to look at the notifications I had to read.

I was honestly above joy as looked at my hand to look at it before gesturing to open my status screen.

Sadly, there were no stat increases, but I was already content with the improvements. With the withering effect, I felt much stronger than before, and now I was confident I could stand up to the Heirophant much easier than before. But before I returned, I wanted to collect the reward promised by Abadeer. I was certain it would not disappoint. With a billowing of my cloak, I immediately began to run in the direction of Abadeer's home.
*2 hours later*
It still took a while for me to arrive, navigating the treacherous landscape of the Nightosphere. The terrain could shift abruptly from mountainous to cavernous, making the journey challenging. Nonetheless, I quickly arrived in front of Abadeer's office. Once again, I found him buried in paperwork as he greeted me in his usual manner.
*Completed all that jobs you gave me* I uttered the words of ice, quickly melting away as I came to stand before Abadeer. He paused his paperwork, clapping his hands with a grin, and rose from his seat to address me properly.
"Completed those jobs quickly, I see, Brook. Now, how about that reward? I was originally going to give you a cool weapon, but after seeing your fighting style, I decided to reward you with something else," Abadeer remarked casually. With a swift motion, he reached his hand into thin air, causing a pitch-black hole to appear in the space. Delving into it, he retrieved something before the hole closed. For a moment, I could swear I saw an eye peering at me just before it sealed shut.
"This book contains a bunch of soul magic spells, but due to the previous owner's concern that someone might abuse its power, it's enchanted to teach you what would suit you best. After that, you can't learn anything else from it. Take a seat, crack it open, and let it work its magic," Abadeer explained. With a wave of his hands, a seat appeared behind me, and I quickly sat down. He handed me the book, and without hesitation, I cracked it open.
To my surprise, I found myself standing in my mind library with an old man who was flipping through a book containing my knowledge of ice magic. Before I could speak, the old wizardly man materialized a book similar to the one Abadeer gave me. He ripped a piece of paper and stuffed it into the book he was reading, causing a sudden headache before I was abruptly awoken back in the chair.
'That was fucked' That all I could think as sat there for a moment slightly horrified as once again something broke into my mind with easy something I would fix but I was focused more on the notification that appeared into view.
