Bab 33: Chapter 33

After Montague's funeral, Harold fixed the drain in the kitchen and changed the light bulb on the back porch. "Is there anything else you need before I go?" he asked Aunt Flory somberly as he gathered his tools.

"No, I think that's everything for today." She sighed. "Thanks again for helping with Montague."

"Sorry for your loss," he mumbled.

"He had a good, long life," Aunt Flory said.

Harold grinned. "Thanks for the cake. It was delicious, as usual. I get offered a lot of treats while fixing people's houses, but I haven't had one yet that beats your devil's food."

Aunt Flory beamed.

"Sorry I scared Verna away," he added.

"Verna doesn't scare that easily," she said. "She'll be back."

"Sure, give her another fifty years," he said wistfully.

"Thank you for your help with the girls as well," Aunt Flory said. "It was very kind of you."

"You've done a fine job with them," he said. "You should be proud of them."

"More than I can express," Aunt Flory said.
