One of the main reasons why Skullius had demanded a blessing like [Graceful Monolith of the Eminent], was so that he could get rid of the immense threat that came with being enclosed in an opponent's Territory; the complete 'erasure' of energies and the halting of the faculties of magical regalia. This was especially debilitating for anyone who wasn't an Incandescent Stager, and since Skullius, even with more knowledge than before, wasn't sure how his progression would go from THAT point, he decided to create this insurance.
