Several months later.
Ryu was about to leave Vancouver Island, which looked like a paradise and had weather that wasn't quite hell.
The show's name stayed the same, but for other reasons this time...
It was "Singles inferno" for the men who weren't Ken or Ryu.
The show was done being filmed, and the channel that was going to air it was starting to go through the records and fix them up. In this world, there was also something similar to Netflix, but it didn't just show PG things. Anyone could see anything.
In this world, it was legal for kids to watch porn, not to mention killing, violence, and blood.
This time, there was nothing like that on the TV show. Instead, there were fights between guys and girls over dates. Even more than Ken, Ryu was the center of attention, and the girl he had his eye on from the start ended up falling for him. Within the first few hours of meeting.
Honestly, she wasn't the only one who had developed feelings for him, and he had been intimate with other people in recent months as well…
Apart from the producers who had their sights set on him, including a Korean lady, Ryu was pretty well-liked on the island. He was way ahead of Ken and all the other guys who came on the show later.
He was naturally manly, like Ken, and he could read women's minds, so it was easy for him. He started to like using that skill.
At one point in the show, there was this jerk soldier who showed up and went by the name Jinyoung. Ryu recalled him from his time on Earth as a contestant on the regular edition of the program during the second season.
He had to settle for a less hot date this time. He and Ryu didn't get along great, but they didn't brawl.
Ryu was learning that it was likely he would see him again in the future…
Ryu was climbing a hill in order to get on a big bus and get the heck out of here. The entire experience was great, but now all he wanted to do was get out of Canada and its wildlife.
Lee Dahee, one of the Korean hosts of the crossover show, was talking to him and asked for his contact information and other details in a way that Ryu found totally irresistible.
She had been even more forward in the way she asked for it and irresistible than Lee So-E, the girl Ryu vibed the most with besides Shin Seulki.
After he told Lee Dahee something, Ryu found out that he would see all of these people again.
She asked him as he got on the bus, "Is this the last time I'll see you?" She was teasing in a playful and confident way, giving off an air of hope.
"Don't you ever take a break from hosting these TV shows? I doubt we'll cross paths unless you continue to work in the coming months. But, as far as I know, you only host this one, right?" Ryu answered while tossing his bags onto a large seat on the bus where the beautiful woman had followed.
Ryu was kinda tired of Canada right now. Or maybe it was just this quiet part that reminded him of his own island, which he didn't want to go back to anymore.
Life in civilization was far too pleasurable. He was trying hard not to think about his grandfather and childhood friend.
There were still a few minutes left before the driver arrived and departure.
Ryu was the only one here with Lee Dahee.
Ken hadn't yet boarded the bus either.
"You know I'm kind of sort of done with acting, right?" The beautiful woman answered, "I've got to hustle whenever I can." In her mind, she wanted Ryu to be interested in her existence more and more.
She suddenly realized something from Ryu's words and continued, "But hold up, are you planning on joining another season?"
"Maybe." Ryu just crossed his arms and sat there, not giving a damn.
"You still want to date on Reality TV?" Dahee asked in surprise, "I thought you had found true love with Seulki?"
"You already know things work differently for me and Ken, right?"Ryu chuckled and hinted at something obvious, taking a long stare at the woman standing before him with her curiosity piqued. "Also, who said anything about dating TV shows? I plan on participating in those and many others. Anything related to reality TV, really… I think I like the pay too. I don't reckon I'm eligible for the Bachelor or Bachelorette just yet, so I was pondering on trying out for the Real World."
"The Real World? Were you?" Dahee was surprised in a good way. She said, "Then I might see you soon if that's the case. I think you might also see So-E and Seulki earlier than you planned."
"What do you mean by that? I haven't even been picked for the show yet..." Ryu frowned.
Dahee laughed and leaned close to his ear to whisper, "Oh, don't worry about the selections. I'm not supposed to give out inside information, but since you're planning to participate, I can tell you a few things—"
When Ryu finished listening, he was totally stunned and bummed out. Thinking about seeing that dude Jinyoung who got on his nerves with his soldier credentials, he was already pretty ticked off even though it hadn't happened yet, and it was way off in the future…
With his cocky, superior demeanor, he totally gave off vibes of that dude Guile from Street Fighter, even though he was definitely not as strong as Guile.
"Speaking of which, you got American citizenship, right?" Dahee asked, as he scowled. "After all, it's between America and Korea again—"

Later.
After a few minutes and a short boat ride. On another big bus heading back to a Canadian airport.
"Bro. Why do you look so bummed out?" Ken asked Ryu.
Jiwon wasn't with them on the bus.
She was returning to Korea with other people.
In the past few months, Ken hadn't gone all the way with her and had grown close to a girl named Lee Nadine. He was about to date her, officially or not. He was really thinking about it, and he had already smooched her a few times on camera.
She was Korean, but she was already living full time in America, unlike Ryu's dates. She was super smart and an Ivy League girl.
She was cute and even let a free-spirited guy like Ken feel like snuggling up to her.
Ken wasn't usually the type to cuddle.
"I learned about something that might be a problem… Or rather someone…" Ryu didn't explain or clear up his long-lasting frown to his best friend. "Nothing you need to worry about."
"Did you?" Ken knew the most about Ryu and his mysterious moods, so he didn't ask any more questions. He asked instead, "We have a lot of free time and some cash, Ryu... Want to go somewhere for a vacation? I reconnected with some old friends in Mexico."
Ryu shrugged. Ready to have some fun and enjoy the sun and scenery of Mexico.
After spending months with bears and killer whales, it would be nice to see something else.
When he said yes, Ken gave him a friendly tap on the shoulder, and the two of them started talking about the Hunger Games, which had been over for months.
That girl Katniss had won them, just as Ryu had said she would.
