Gradually, Jian Xi calmed down.

But her belly was hungry!

She got out of bed and went to the living room, opening the refrigerator.

The fridge was empty, not even a carton of milk to be found.

It seemed like it was time to go shopping again!

Jian Xi's eyes brightened, but now it was night, and all the malls and supermarkets were closed.

She glanced at the clock and almost spat blood: Damn, it was only one in the morning!

Time for takeout!

Jian Xi flopped onto the sofa and picked up her phone, ready to order some takeout. Just then, Loh Minxian called.

"Jian Xi, are you asleep?" he asked.

"Nonsense, would I be able to answer the phone if I were?" she retorted.

"Oh, good you're not! Jian Xi, are you at school? I've brought you some late-night snacks!" Loh Minxian exclaimed excitedly. "Lots of tasty things, garlic scallops, stewed duck's feet, stir-fried noodles, shrimp dumplings..."
