Bab 8: Stupidity Is A Disease
The night soon grew colder. The looming moon, as some would refer to as heaven's eyes, illuminated the residence that was upholding the scent of fresh deaths.
"Master Wu, weren't we here to collect our things back that Master Xiao stole?" The disciple from ShenMing Wu asked.
Yu Xuelan choked on her saliva while lightly punching her chest many times, thinking, "Stole? So that old man wasn't just a perverted pedophile, but also a thief! What's with this village and stealing?"
"The one you protected is his wife! We need to get our things back and detain her!" The disciple demanded.
"Wife?" Wu Zhitian mumbled and looked back at Yu Xuelan as she sweated excessively.
Although she knew that the way Wu Zhitian spoke was quite soothing and calm, she could honestly fall asleep if he talked more, but this was not the point.
If she got sent to the prison chambers, they would do a thorough examination of my spiritual core and would definitely notice that her core and this body's core had mixed.
"Wait, I'm not related to that old man at all," Yu Xuelan reassured.
The two cultivators from ShenMing Wu stared at her in confusion.
"I'm just a slave he bought. How can I be married to such a man of high position, not to mention, my master?" She said and smiled on the inside, feeling extremely proud of her excuse.
The young disciple rubbed his chin in deep thought and nodded, "That's true."
"I have the slavery documents in my bedroom if you want me to grab them, and honestly, please feel free to retrieve everything he stole from the ShenMing Wu Sect," she offered.
"Oh, really?!" the boy happily said, and Yu Xuelan smiled.
"Yes, really!"
He gasped as he realized his unbefitting behaviour of a courteous disciple. "No! I won't be fooled once again!"
"What??"
"Wu Ming," Wu Zhitian said in his usual quiet voice, yet that soft voice seemed to resonate through the entire courtyard.
The youth immediately silenced himself but continued to stare at Yu Xuelan.
She had just realised this, but in the past, Wu Zhitian used to always smile and be so timid. Now, it was the complete opposite.
How much had changed?
After three incense sticks of time, Long Wen walked over as she finished setting the talismans over the house.
She butted into their conversation, holding documents in her hand. "You were indeed a slave."
Yu Xuelan remembered that she accidentally left the slavery papers on her bed when she was looking to see if there were any more cultivation manuals from the demonic realm in the drawers that needed to be burned.
If she had not burned them and Long Wen found the books, she would probably be dead right now.
"I found these in your bedroom since talismans needed to be put in place and these documents were scattered everywhere. My apologies for looking through Lady Lin's things, I thought I would return it to you since your bedroom has been destroyed by the demon as well."
"It's alright. Please do not speak so formally to me."
Long Wen opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by a sudden cry.
"Young Madam Long!" Long Rei yelled as he ran to her.
"What is the matter?"
"Look what I found!!"
The youth handed Long Wen a piece of paper that looked extremely familiar, possibly too familiar, and it was burned halfway.
Long Wen furrowed her brows as she read the note. After staring at that paper, Yu Xuelan immediately checked her sleeves, only to find that there was nothing there.
It was her commandment note.
