Bab 37: 37
Megan was frozen. She didn't say anything or seemingly even breathe. She was just in utter shock.
He stares at her for a second when she was obviously caught in shock and he stares at her for a second as he waits for her response. His heart starts beating faster and he keeps staring at her looking for her reaction as he says, "I know this might come as a big shock to hear but I'm in love with you and that's why I've been going crazy about all this, that's why I've been arguing with you and with my brother... It's because I'm being jealous and I'm just..."
"I...I think you're confused."
He looks at her with a hint of frustration and anger at her response. It's clear that he's a few seconds from losing his cool.
"Confused?! I've never been more clear and certain about something in my entire life! I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU!"
"B-but how?"
"Look I know I might have done some stupid and inconsiderate things before but I'm tired of waiting around and keeping quiet about all these feelings I have for you. And trust me, with how crazy I've been going lately around you, the way you've always made me feel... It all makes so much sense now and I've fallen so deep for you now, that there's just no way I can ignore my feelings anymore."
Megan shakes her head. "Everytime we meet we argue Apollo. You and I have never had a civil conversation."
He sighs and he tries to calm down a bit as he looks at her and he stares at her and he answers back, "And that might be true, but maybe that was just out of frustration. Because... If I'm being honest, those arguments we had, they gave me a reason to keep seeing you and keep showing up. I know I should have just been honest from the very start but I got so wrapped up in just trying to see you, that I didn't realize how deep I had fallen for you."
"I'm with Roman...your Brother Apollo."
When she mentions the fact that she's with Roman, his heart sinks and he feels like he got a punch in the stomach. But he keeps it together and he responds back to her.
"I know you are and you're right when you say that I should have respected that fact. But that doesn't stop the fact that I love you and..."
"Get away from her."
Megan felt like fainting when she saw Roman approaching them. This was not going to end well at all.
"No!" Apollo shouts. "You can't keep her locked away like a damn prisoner. I need to talk to her."
Roman's eyes widen like he had just gone into full protective mode with the way his younger brother is acting right now. He glares over at him as he walks over and he gets in front of her, not allowing Apollo to get close. "You're not getting anywhere near her."
He feels his anger rise as he stares at his brother and he speaks up with a sharp tone.
"Move."
Roman doesn't budge at all as he continues to stare at him with a cold glare. He won't allow his younger brother anywhere near her, not when he's acting like this. He speaks up in a firm but serious tone.
"Not happening. I won't let you touch her."
His brother's words only trigger him more. He feels his temper boil and he walks forward and gets closer to his brother. He speaks in a sharp angry tone, "I said move. I'm not going to do anything to her. I... I just wanna talk to her... is that so wrong?"
His expression turns to one of pure anger at the way his younger brother is getting so upset and he gets even closer to him now.
"Yeah, you're not gonna do anything to her, right. Just like you're not gonna convince her to leave me for you or something stupid like that or what?"
His face flashes with a hint of annoyance at his brother's words. He was just trying to have an honest conversation but he feels like his brother is treating him like it's all his fault for having these feelings for Megan. He stares at him angrily and he replies, "What if that happens? What if she does want to be with me? What then?!"
His expression darkens as he hears his younger brother's response. He feels the wave of rage start to take over again and he is just getting angrier by each word that comes out of his mouth. He feels so betrayed by the fact that his younger brother is trying to take away what he has. He leans closer to him and he stares him down with rage in his eyes. He whispers harshly. "If that happens...then I'll be forced to hate you for the rest of my life."
Apollo's eyes widen when he hears his brother's response. He tries to hold back his anger because the last thing he wanted the situation to escalate into was him and his brother fighting but it's clear just how furious his older brother is.
His lips tighten up as he gets even angrier and he doesn't speak anymore as he just stares back at him with a look of hatred. His body is trembling with anger but he refuses to let this escalate and just stares back at him.
Roman stares right back at him as he feels his anger boiling up with every passing second. It seems like they're both about to burst with aggression. He feels his eyes narrowing as his breathing starts to become more heavy and he clenches his jaw tightly.
He's trying his best to not get violent with him right now, but it's hard to hold it in when he's so angry, especially when it's about Megan. There was no one more important to him than her and it pisses him off that his own younger brother could possibly tear them apart.
But Apollo's next words seen to push him over the edge.
"This is ridiculous! You're acting like she's your property. She's a human being with thoughts and feelings too. She can make her own choices."
