Bab 32: Chapter 32: Like a Balm to Soothe the Soul

“You better pray that I make it out of this alive, or I will haunt your bones until the day you die,” I seethed to my cousin as we exited the limousine.

Anger like none other I had ever felt possessed me after hearing his hair-brained concocted plan. That not only put the woman I love in the middle of the crosshairs of my family, and the Ricci’s, including my deranged fiancee, but the entirety of Chicago’s underbelly that had all gathered in the heart of the city to celebrate my upcoming nuptials.

If I wasn’t going to die with a bullet between my eyes, I was going to die of a heart attack. My legs couldn’t carry me quick enough from the limousine to the back entrance of the Rookery Building.

“Diego,” Marcell harshly whispered to me, “I’m sorry okay. We just thought that it could get you into the same room as one another… you know romance would overcome you or some sh*t…”
