Bab 108: 'Confessor'

"Why did you bring Tristan along with you and leave him alone with me?"

Lauren was taken aback. "Uh? What do you mean by leaving him alone with you? I just happened to receive a phone call."

Lucas smiled. "Well. I don't think a phone call will take you that long unless it was your lover."

"Lucas!" Lauren was stupefied. How could her son think that way? For Christ's sake, she loved her husband so much even though he was no longer here on Earth! Also, wasn't she too old to have such an affair?

"I am just kidding, mom." Lucas laughed. "But, tell me. You brought Tristan to me for a reason, right?"

Lauren averted her gaze and let out a sigh. "Yes."

"Why?" Lucas asked.

"I made a huge mistake and had bad choices before. And, Tristan was the one who was very affected by it. That's why I was trying to fix my mistakes," Lauren seriously looked into Lucas' eyes.

"Help him to heal, Lucas. I know you're the one who could perfectly understand."

Lucas fell silent.
