Sawyer stood in the doorway, watching her as she rested her back on the soft bed.
After noticing that she had settled in comfortably, he said, "I'll ask Aaron to come here; you don't have to go back to the doctor's office when the results come in. Let him explain everything here."
Abigail lay on the bed and tried to close her eyes, responding with a faint "Hmmm..." She felt exhausted and stressed after the MRI and another medical test that Sawyer had insisted they perform.
Seeing how exhausted she was, Sawyer felt a wave of guilt. He approached the bed and sat on the edge, gently holding her hand.
His concern deepened after a few more seconds with no response from her. He didn't want to put her through all the medical checks, but at the same time, he couldn't bear the thought of something happening to her.
