CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
"You what now? huh?" I said, and Onyx repeated what he just said. "Why?" I said, and Onyx's whiskers twitched. "He caught a lot of prey today. The biggest amount out of all the cats in your lousy clan. More than me, even."
Well, duh. I didn't hunt, and the other clan cats had never been outside a cage in their entire lives, so it was almost expected that Shadow would be better. Still, more than Onyx was something. "That's not really a reason. Anything else?" I asked.
"He'll be happier with his clan, as long as I invite him back in."
????? wut??? He will? "I think you should ask Shadow that. Or I'll ask for you." I said.
"Let me ask."
Nope! Not budging! "Why, are you going to try and gaslight him or something??" I prodded, and Onyx frowned turned around, and walked off. Victory!
Now, all that was left was to ask Shadow.
